Happy 238th Birthday, Marine Corps!

after which that iconic photograph of Marines raising the flag

Semper Fi and happy birthday, Marines

Actually no, the primitives didn't commemorate it.

Ninety-four primitive views, 0 primitives comments.

But we remember.

If it had been a post about a marine pushing a goat herder it would have gotten 3000 replies and kicks.

Hmmm. That's more of a memorial than dear departed Andy got.
DU sure has some odd priorities.

Sadly, after all these hours, there's just two primitives who've shown up to reply there, probably retired Marines.

Given the way the primitives are, they probably think the woman behind the counter at the welfare office is more important than a Marine.

They're probably looking to get the OP tombstoned for glorifying the military-industrial complex.

Were the Marines involved with the Barbary wars?

I'm waiting for the DUmp's phony soldiers to start recounting their heroism on Iwo.

Surely numbersBoo and TiT were there.
