Given that the DUmmy separated this sentence from the rest of the post, I assume that the drooling is unrelated to the DUmmy's dental problem.

It's a safe assumption. Most of the DUmmies are drooling half-wits, but most of them don't realize it. We may have witnessed evolution in action- the moment when a DUmmy develops self-awareness!

Remember Will Pitt's flash of sentience? "I woke up this morning and realized I had shit in my pants. Then I realized they weren't my pants." His nose-dive back into the bottle made perfect sense.

I consider "poor DUmmy" a redundant term.

That's because the insurance plan you have is a junk plan!  If you had Kenyacare, your bill would be reduced to at least $1200 out of pocket!

Well, what are you waiting for, primitive?!  Get off that junk private plan, and get onto a plan the collective supports!

Well no sympathy for the $640 bill as I'm sure the DUmmie will never pay it.  It needs the money more than the rich dentist.  I do appreciate the drooling report which gives me much comfort.

A pair of pliers would be all you would need. Hades fire, Dori!!! They can't take care of the rest of their lives, what makes you think they take care of their teeth?   :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

That's one of the few movie scenes that still makes me cringe whenever I watch it.

Well, there's always the wishadoo begging wall to fall back on.  Ask the other DUmmies to pay the bill, and if nothing else, they can give some healing light, good vibes, and some folded hands.

Thanks to Obamacare, that may soon be the experience of millions of patients.

I know this is an attempt to undermine "Insurance" but dental insurances have almost always been like this.  A crown is considered "Major Services" under most plans and is usually covered at 50%.  Kenyacare doesn't change that.  In fact when I signed up for the new Kenyacare (A thread I have been meaning to write) the dental is the exact same I have had at all my employers.  Also charged extra over the health insurance.

I call bullshit.  :diebouncy:

Just took my son to the dentist to have TWO broken (baby) teeth extracted.

1)  The dental profession is largely abandoning novacaine for drugs which anesthetize better and with fewer accompanying side effects. Had you been inside a dentist's office long enough for the Dentist to   engage in his profession, you would know this, because instead of doing the Bill Cosby routine, they tell you what they are doing every step of the way, and why (it's another change they've made, profession wide, to try to keep the lawsuit happy idiots at bay).

2)  Again, I'll see your 1 tooth extracted, and raise you two. Total cost - including what insurance is covering - for that procedure was in the neighborhood of $1,100. (total cost out of pocket was just over $100, DUmbass.)  So, your $640 tab for ONE extraction doesn't make sense, unless you were doing it entirely out of pocket.

3)  The charges shouldn't have come as a surprise to you, DUmbshit. There ain't a dentist within 600 miles of you that would take new patient in off the street and the first words out of his mouth is "that tooth's got to come out".  Every dentist I've been to in the past 10 years (3 different states, mind you) would look at the problem, prescribe some antibiotics to kill the funk growing around the tooth, and then they'll outline a TREATMENT  PLAN - INCLUDING PRICING - that will solve the problem. If you agree to the plan, they set up the appointment for the first procedure as outlined on the plan: usually 2-3  weeks out, to give the antibiotics a chance to work.

3 strikes. You lose, DUmbass. Zero bongs.
