Cliches of liberals/progressives that don't fit you (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024003064)
What are some well known cliches of progressives or liberals that don't apply to you?
Some of mine are:
1. I am not a "pot head". I don't do any drugs, and rarely drink a beer. In this aspect, I have a very "clean" lifestyle.
2. I have no tattoos whatsoever, nor would I want to ever have one.
3. I am a clean person, I try not to smell and have good hygiene, likewise, I tend to dress conservatively, plain, nothing crazy, you would not see me in my appearance and think "hippie"
4. I believe in a supreme being. I tend to have strong moral values, like right and wrong.
5. I am not outspoken in my politics, I tend to keep my views to myself in public. To the point that a work mate thought I was a conservative like he was, because I would never offer countering opinions to his political tirades, instead, I would just say neutral things.
What are some traits or things you have that run counter to the cliches?
Brand new thread, the DUmmies quickly devolve into arguing about what cliches fit them. :-)

1. I didn't realize those were cliches of liberals....
Most of the liberals I know are clean and don't have tattoos.

3. I guess I mean classic cliches more of the "hippie" types
or extreme left types, I probably should have said that instead.

5. That's interesting.
As a teacher, I'm a strong disciplinarian.
But I do dress down, very casual.

9. I am much like your description.
However I was guilty of stereotyping when I met my ex girlfriend. She owned a small quilt shop in an old victorian house store front, dressed in earth tones, was vegan, smelled of patchouli all the time, bought organic, bought local, recycled everything, new age in her beliefs, vocally anti-war, very intelligent, 4.0 student, highly artistic and creative, and a big Tea Partier!
We did not split up over politics just in case anyone is wondering.
That's because she owns that quilt shop. She built that; she made it happen.

10. i am exactly a liberal stereotype. i am gay/brown/feminist/immigrant/under 40/urban
Not to mention a freaking slob, based on the pictures of your crap-hole apartment in NYC. Aren't you a lesbian or bi-sexual too?

She could've been one of the few democrats who participated, or she could just be another Bouncy character.

I.e. Sweat pants. Not particularly clean ones, either.

You are either lying or you are not a liberal.
For the record, socialist leaders like Barry are not supreme beings so believing in them does not count.
