$4 toast is the last straw - motivates group to protest affordability issues in SF
$4 toast prompts housing petition
Everybody has their own "Holy cow, I can't believe life in San Francisco is so expensive!" tale of woe. For Eddie Kurtz, it was reading about a $4 piece of toast.
Venture Beat recently published a blog post titled "$4 toast: Why the tech industry is ruining San Francisco," citing a $4 piece of toast at the Mill on Divisadero. Kurtz, political director for the Courage Campaign, cited it as an example of an increasingly unaffordable San Francisco that motivated his group to launch a petition calling on Mayor Ed Lee to do something.
Of course, the petition is really about pushing the mayor to fight for affordable housing, not affordable toast, but it's all linked in the realm of this city is crazy expensive.
"It feels like there's a widening sense that this is out of control," Kurtz said. "It feels like there's just a widening gap, and regular people who often don't think about these things are having sticker shock about trying to find an apartment and pay the bills."
The petition reads, in part, "Sign on and tell Mayor Lee: San Francisco became one of the greatest cities in the world because it valued the working class. Unless you change course, our vibrant, diverse city will become a memory."
With huge taxes and regulations, Primitives are stunned to find out that everything else gets more expensive! Of course the blame falls on the shoulders of the evil capitalist business owner and he/she/it(hey, it's SF) should be punished. Oh, and those evil tech workers! don't forget about them!

NYC has much more cushion in terms of impact, SF will soon be nothing more than heavily curated and highly inflated experiences on demand with no community, civic life or culture that along with the pretty views made the City desirable in the first place.
Those rich people are pricing the hippies out of the area! Guess it's not all bad....

Let's watch how NYC fares under the communist in charge now. He intends to tax the shit out of everyone, so that everyone is poor. All the upper west side rich liberals are going to find out what they voted for. They will then flee overnight, which is super easy to do when you're rich, and there will be nothing left to tax. What then?
I don't intend to get any closer than 400 miles from NYC.

Democrat-run welfare sewers where: Unions demand business out of business or move away, teachers make 1.5 to 2 times the media income level, ridiculously high taxes to fund grossly overpaid public sector employees, promising unsustainable golden retirements, redundancy of services, useless departments that oversee other useless departments, bloated bureaucracies packed with patronage workers, flushing money down the toilet on problems created to solve problems that did not exist. Stuff like that.

As I wrote in a thread not to long ago. Liberals always want to address the symptoms of a problem instead of the addressing problem itself. You can do this for next 100 years morons but the problem will always exist and in 99 times out of 100 get exponentially worse.
Let me break it down in a simple analogy for lurking dummies:
Fuse keeps blowing in your car, you keep replacing fuse. Although fuses aren't expensive you find you spend $30 on fuses over time. When the problem may have been a wire that the insulation had become weathered on under the hood and sometimes became moist and shorted out. All you had to do was fix that wire once for $5.00.

Clearly the solution to the problem is to set up toast exchanges with minimum requirements for the toast. Tax credits and subsidies for the poor who need toast but cannot afford to purchase it on the open market. Unions exempt of course.
