Title: mixed priorities
Post by: DLR Pyro on November 07, 2013, 03:11:52 PM
Heart-clogging trans fats were once a staple of the American diet, plentiful in baked goods, microwave popcorn and fried foods. Now, mindful of the health risks, the Food and Drug Administration is getting rid of what's left of them for good.

Condemning artificial trans fats as a threat to public health, the FDA announced Thursday it will require the food industry to phase them out.

You know,  I wish this ****ing oministration would put as much energy and emphasis in getting rid of the 10 million + illegal aliens that are sponging off us legal tax payers as they are in chasing windmills like trans fats.  Tobbacco is more harmful to a person's health than trans fats are but big tobbacco has the politicians in their back pocket.

If I choose to consume trans fat laden food, then it's on me, not the governemnt.  I thought liberals were pro choice.

Your health is important for the public good.  Uncle Obama needs everyone to stay healthy to keep paying taxes to support his voters.

Waiting for them to ban tobacco.

I think I read they're banning Newports and other menthols.  Or at least going after them.  I saw somewhere that the Newport smokers were gonna riot if they did.

I know. How about targeting excess calories next? Nobody should be allowed to order a triple cheeseburger at a fast food restaurant, because of healthcare costs, and if caught should be taxed or imprisoned. OR! How about we deal with something that actually matters? Maybe I need a triple cheeseburger just for comfort after realizing again how overrun by socialists our country is becoming.

More government interference.

Obama loves to use regulations to avoid congress, raise taxes, control businesses and take away our freedoms.

Typical behavior for a Dictator.

Well comrades it's no longer on you what you put in your own body, the only body rights are abortion, your benevolent dear leader cares so much for you that he wants you to be happy and healthy, and after they fully take over health care the government should not have to pay for your heart attack treatment, so you will be given a pain pill and sent home, we need the funds for birth control pills, abortions, sex change operations, and all procedures that people need more than you do. This has been a paid message from the ministry of truth, Winston Smith.

Well comrades it's no longer on you what you put in your own body,

Yes comrade, this is what we are teaching in the new Common Core Standards in our schools.

From a fifth grade English lesson;

"He (the President) makes sure the country's laws are fair"
“The wants of an individual are less important than the well-being of the nation”
“the commands of government officials must be obeyed by all.”

So while fifth graders are being brainwashed in school, the President, by fiat, is imposing a ban that dictates what you can eat, because (according to the above lesson) he as a government official, made the decision that the ban is fair, it's for the well-being of the nation and you must obey the new ban.

If in fact they're teaching this, there needs to be some SERIOUS hell-raising going on at school districts nationwide.

Your post exhibits a dangerous note of deviation from state-enforced nutritional norms, comrade DLR Pyro.

as I was saying about mixed priorities...

President Obama’s approval ratings may be stuck in a sand trap, but that has not deterred him from sticking to his weekly round of golf. After teeing off on Saturday at the private course in Florida where the film “Caddy Shack” was filmed, Mr. Obama hit the milestone number of 150 golf rounds in less than five years in the White House.

The Secret Service loaded Mr. Obama’s golf clubs bag emblazoned with the presidential seal into the motorcade Saturday morning to head to the private Grande Oaks Golf Club. Sporting a blue polo shirt with tan slacks and a cap, he spent five hours on the private course with former NBA star Alonzo Mourning, friend Cyrus Walker and former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

150 rounds of golf since being anointed as our lord and savior.  that equates to almost a half a year on the links...

Nope.  Politicians are addicted to the taxes derived from tobacco products.

Plus, when compared to trans fats, tobacco kills people rather quickly and reduces healthcare costs. All those foods that cause diabetes, heart disease and other obesity associated diseases cost more because the people live much longer and need continuing care.

Unless the government commands you to not smoke pot, or obey immigration laws. Those laws are meant to be broken.

Another exception is if the law was made by the rethuglicans that law is null and void and must be protested against.
