No Republicans in Illinois (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023995689)
I received the following email from a conservative friend. I have tried to find a rebuttal, but have failed to locate one. I'm sure there are plenty of DUers who have some facts to add to this corruption of information . HELP!
Subject: Fwd: A State With No Republicans]
The State of Illinois. Think about this. Some interesting data on the 'state' of Illinois ... There are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are people working. Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. averaging $110,000/year. Their pensions average 80-90% of their income. Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what? Be sure to read till the end. I've never heard it explained better. Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago ? Body count: In the last six months, 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago . 221 killed in Iraq ; AND Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire US. Here's the Chicago chain of command: President: Barack Hussein Obama · Senator: Dick Durbin · House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr. · Governor: Pat Quinn · House leader: Mike Madigan · Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike) · Mayor: Rohm Emanuel · The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats. · Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago . · Of course, they're all blaming each other. · Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! · Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! >> State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! >> Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois . And he is going to 'fix' Washington politics for us? >> George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the prison. >> He was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch who is that's right, also in the prison. >> And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago, because he is fighting to not be sent to...that's right, prison. The Land of Lincoln , where our governors make our license plates. But you know what? As long as they keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago , nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke before the country does. "Anybody who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." Don’t forget Detroit another good example. "One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors." - Plato “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; Its inherent virtue is ----- End forwarded message ----- James A. 3. This looks to be made up by the writer.
By the way, we actually have two Senators - the other one is a Republican.
Yes, RINO Mark Kirk.

4. What do the people there think about it?
There has to be some reason for the disparity. What is different about Chicago and other large northern climate cities?

Most on "welfare" ARE working!

Love to watch those idiots tie themselves in knots and twist in the wind like a wind sock. All along trying to defend the indefensible. :rotf:

Report from Peoples Republic of California (PRoC):
Total debt held by the PRoC is $420,000,000,000.00 ($420 billion dollars).
Total welfare recipients in PRoC is 38% of all welfare recipients in USA.
The Proc has 12.7 million working people and 25.3 million non-working people (see above) or twice as many non workers to workers.
Poverty rate for the PRoc is 23.5 percent, the highest of any state in the country.
Child poverty rate in the PRoc is 24%. FUN FACT: Since Obama has been president child poverty rate for the USA has gone up 24%.
The PRoC is the 6th worst state in income inequality. FUN Fact: 8/9 of the worst income inequality states are deep blue.
School (K-12) rating for the PRoC is the 20th worst state.
I would not call the leftist socialist Utopia of the PRoC a success. I would call it a pretty much straight out failure.

And when the unfunded pensions are factored in, then what happens?
What's that, primitive? What do you mean you don't want to talk about it anymore?

What's funny, is if you looked at an election map of California when Bush was re-elected in '04, the only blue counties were along the coast. Everything else was red and Calif. is a big state.
If elections were counted by counties and not population centers, the Dems would never win.

Oh, like the new "work" guidelines that king barky instituted, such as bed rest and persuing hobbies?

And Illinois has high unemployment and high taxes. Jobs left after the last tax hike of 66%.

I notice many of those blue states like California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Illinois, and New York are largely blue because of the big cities and surrounding areas. Outside of them, they are largely red.
Interesting to note an axis of blue rural counties in the South.

Atlanta, Birmingham, Augusta-across I20, Montgomery, Jackson, and the MS Delta. All Dim-voting idiots. Go to the delta and they're all in poverty and on welfare.
...but Bennie Thompson continues to get richer.

Well, sure. If you completely disregard that 16 ton weight (of unfunded liabilities) hanging over your head by a length of 4lb. test, everything's just phuckin ducky.
Idiot.
Interesting to note an axis of blue rural counties in the South.
Black vote. I have traveled that area many times.

No Republicans in Illinois
I can think of one.
Now I'm not sure. Maybe not:

How long before someone chisels that sign off of that building--or at least chisels the word democrat off?

Surprised it hasn't already been done. They're begging for vandalism.

I posted that on Facebook and someone commented that that wasn't what they meant by Democrat.
Ummmm... what? :thatsright:
