Hagel: Rising health care costs may create "military that's heavily compensated, but probably...not capable and not ready." @MorningEdition

Not sure how the rest of you read that...but to me that's the first announcement that our benefits are about to be cut in the name of readiness.

What's one more promise broken at this point? At the rate this administration is spending on things that ARE NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION, we won't have a miltary. And all liberal wetdreams aside, that will be the end of this nation. There are people out there who hate us for who we are and what we stand for (or should I say stood for once). I am not looking forward to what the future brings for the military. Does the name 'Task Force Smith' ring a bell?

We'll have a military.  But it will refelct everything that is wrong with the country right now.  POTUS wants to "radically transform" the Armed Forces in the same way he wants to do to the country.

He wants to break it....get rid of the 75% that will never vote for him then rebuild it as a kinder gentler more PC and GLBTQ rfriendly force for social justice.

I'm not either.  And it's making it harder for me to stay comitted past the next five years.  But some of us HAVE to stay around to show the younger troops what right looks like.  I was that young troop in '92 and saw what stuck around in the NCO ranks when the good folks hit the door thanks to Clinton.

Oh yeah...as a 24th ID alum I know all about TF Smith.
