You can vote to bring it to a vote and then vote against the bill.  Happens all the time.

If Toomey PA voted with the democrats then he is nothing more than an Arlen Specter clone.  :puke:

Portman has been a total nutbat on this issue since his son came out gay. So much for integrity when it gets thrown out the window because it's 'your kid'. He is the epitome of someone whose values appear to be fluid when someone he know is personally involved. It really speaks to him being nothing but a parrot and a shill for his previous stand since he can't seem to understand the difference between hating someone and disagreeing with how they live their life. Makes me wonder if his son came out a thief, fraud, murderer would he then change his stands on those things too? Really, truly pathetic what he did. I suppose nobody can ever say I love my son/daughter, however loving them does not mean agreeing with every choice or manner in which they live their life. That's just too hard to say I guess and of course the gay nazis will accept nothing less then adoration for how they live their lives. I know i sound harsh, but i really lose a lot of respect for parents who throw supposedly long held beliefs out the window to placate their children and likely their own egos.

It will need 60 votes to pass the senate.  I doubt it will pass in the House.  Boehner said that it would cause too many frivolous lawsuits.  But they are doing that anyway.
