Title: Skydivers leap to escape fiery collision of planes over Wisconsin
Post by: I_B_Perky on November 03, 2013, 06:45:08 PM
Now for some macabre humor...

The link:

Skydivers leap to escape fiery collision of planes over Wisconsin (http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/11/02/21291100-skydivers-leap-to-escape-fiery-collision-of-planes-over-wisconsin?lite)

I guessed they jumped out of a perfectly non functioning plane.   :-)

BTW... they all lived including the pilots.

One of the comments made me laugh:

Quote
People always ask "Why would you jump out of a perfectly good aircraft?"

"To practice for when it isn't perfectly good!"

How often do you wear a parachute aboard a plane you intend to land in?

He was probably a boy scout... always prepared. It's when the pilot comes on the plane with a parachute is when you got to worry.... oh wait, the pilot did!!!!

It's a regulation that jump pilots (and aerobatic pilots) have to wear properly inspected parachutes.
Regarding perfectly good airplanes, there are none. Not even brand new ones out of the factory.
