Has anyone lifted/jacked up a 2 story house?

1. Personally, no. Watched it done to the house I grew up in, yes.
My parents started an "addition" to our house, that was really more adding the old house onto the bigger new house. The jacked up the old house, spun it 90 degrees and moved it 150 feet onto the new foundation. We forgot something on a small shelf and it didn't move a millimeter.
I did later jack up a couple joists under the old house that were sagging and sister in some new joists. Unbelievable that one can be so used to a bounce in the floor that you don't notice it. Walking across the floor after the new joists were in place was stunningly different in how solid the floor felt.

2. I worked on a partial foundation replacement after a flood.
1.5 story house was jacked up, corner of the foundation jack hammered out then replaced, along with a couple new courses of cinderblocks. The dirt center was dug out, french drain laid in, and a slab was poured to convert the crawlspace into usable storage space. It ended up being more like a half-basement, if there is such an animal.

The DUmp would be the first place I would go to get advice on house jacking.

Anyone can jack up a house like that.
nadin could tell them how to jack up and move a house WITH its basement.

I'm getting concerned, because the cousin seems to have evaporated, like the brain-damaged primitive did.
And here, I'm counting on her to win the Top DUmmie award this year.

She's pouting at the bullies, but she can't possibly stay away for long.
nadin craves attention, an audience. No one knows she has her own blog, and hardly anyone reads Crazy Miriam's East County blog.
The group of lunatics at the DUmp, even if it includes her fan club, is the best she can do.
She'll be back at the DUmp in plenty of time for campaigning down the stretch.

Maybe she put herself on ignore?

I can't find it now, but she made a comment today in one of the Snowden threads saying that someone had been "foisted on his own petard." She also scribbled a new column for ECM that ends with the ominous warning that "the recall organizers have a tough road to hoe."

They should start out with cars and work their way up.

I'm somewhat surprised that the latest incarnation of TiTty Boi hasn't chimed in on that therad.

Not satisfied with stealing large screen TV's and beer during natural disasters any more, DUmmies are now trying figure out how to get wheels under large homes.
