Oh my.

As we all know, we can't have anything on Skins's island with which the truemud primitive disagrees.

If a jury fails in their duty---what is the next recourse with crap Op's?

Hey I just don't know? Someone hops on DU---posts a very obvious right wing troll post.... offers no evidence---etc.

It goes to a jury and the jury leaves it alone because---well...who knows.

Do the group hosts have any power here?

1. Is it a jury's duty to hide 'crap Ops?'

I know name calling, etc gets hidden

2. I think it's a juries duty to hide Ops with a right wing agenda.

3. A jury system is an expeirment in pure democracy....

As with all pure democracies, its weakness is a tendency to the tyranny of the majority. They fulfilled their duty and delivered a verdict.

Clearly, the majority on the jury did not share your opinion.

You know, I really miss meta.

7. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner

Juries screw up all the time, in real life and in message boards.

I bet we have a lot of jury trolls. I'll get online and not feel like posting and get a handful of jury duties one right after another.

17. That is the flaw in pure democracy. Which is why the American experiment was with a Republic.

Democracy must be moderated with rights, rules, and laws.

9. Look I agree..

but when they fail ---which they have been known to do... what else happens? Does the Group hosts chime in? I just don't know.

Hey truemud.

Kiss my ass.

8. If the thread does not meet specific SOP for the group (hosts can not do for forums) they can lock

They can't delete or hide

11. I suspect the one you are referring to is in GD--so nothing can be done unless admins choose to

12. Nothing. Unless some hosts think it is outside the appropriate subject matter of the forum and then they have to get a majority to agree, in other words, it has to be a really good reason.

34. Rent an echo chamber with a No Contrary Opinions Allowed sign on the door.

That's a pretty accurate description of the DU cesspit.
