The President lied...
And people died.
He said there were WMDs in Iraq. He said they were getting "yellowcake" from Af-ri-ca. He said we may see a mushroom cloud from Saddam Hussein.
And we spent trillions of dollars on the war and its resulting casualties.
And now....
They are saying this President lied also. He said if you wanted to keep your insurance, you would be able to do so. Unfortunately, he did not check with the insurance companies that were writing individual policies and they made him out to be a liar. They refused to give their customers their same policy with the added benefits of the new law without writing a new policy, and in many cases, charging them more for it. The insurance companies made a liar out of the President.
And the Republican Party is making hay out of it. They know a liar when they see one...

1. The President isn't running for re-election.
I am not worried about this. Strategically, it makes sense for the Democratic Party to allow the President to take whatever lumps are coming for this language error and move on.
Ultimately, this is much ado about nothing.

2. I think that ultimately this will show how worthless those cheap insurance policies were for the
American people. We have a right to expect standards in health insurance coverage. The truth is that the people were scammed by the insurance companies. To me, it's like product safety laws or any other laws that protect the consumer from fraud.
What I don't understand is why people bought such inferior "insurance" in the first place...

10. I stopped paying for medical insurance in 2002 BECAUSE I could see it was worthless.
I'd rather give the money to my family, if it comes to that. And this way I don't have any faceless, careless, underpaid "employees" making health care decisions for me. If I die, at least it will be from my own mistakes.
But I finally got Medicare in 2010.

George W. Bush lied over Iraq's WMD but they were White lies.

27. He didn't lie. The person insured can still keep the same insurance
company.

29. Yes, the President did not say they could keep the same plan at the same price.
Very few people kept their same plan at the same price, with the cost of insurance going up every year at extraordinary rates.

Sorry primitives -
This isn't some sort of one-off comment that is being reported. Obama made the same 'language errors' dozens of times on tape.
- If you like your plan, you can keep it
- its not going to add to the deficit
- the average family will save $2,500 yearly
- the ACA will cost 900 billion over 10 years
NONE of these statements are true. And remember - Rethuglikkkans have NOTHING to do with Obamacare. They were locked out of its design, none of them voted for it, and they have tried to kill it. - BTW, The general public knows all of this because the media wanted the whole world to know who to thank for Obamacare. -I bet they wish they hadn't now, because now Obamacare is ALL YOU.:ownit:

Democrats don't lie. They just commit language errors. :rotf:
DUmmies: That "shitty insurance" meme that you keep spouting to each other over and over again? Out in the real world and the broader internet, it's really pissing people off. It's not working. Not at all.

I like the term "language malfunction."Someone tampered with the TOTUS....it lied.
King Barky didn't lie and of course he could never have an error. It's Language's fault that 98 million peole will be kicked of of the plan they liked and be forced into a worse plan at a much higher cost. King Barky the Liar is going to be steaming mad at "language" for quite awhile.

“It was not a lie, let’s just be very clear. So let me knock that down right away,†Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said. “When the president and myself and every other Democrat that talked about that if you like your health care, you can keep it, that was referring to the overwhelming majority of Americans who had health care.â€

I'm thinking we need to use your list and make a sticky thread of it so the DUmmies can see all the ACA lies compiled in one place. It won't sink in, but it will be sure to piss em off. :rotf:

Congressman Jim Clyburn went even further. “The entire English language was created by slaveowners as a means of oppression. You can’t just say that one word is a racist code word or another. The whole language, every single word, letter and apostrophe in it is racist. It’s a fact. If you speak English, you’re a racist.â€:lmao:  :lmao:
Love your sign, Bally.
Reminds me of something Andrew Wilkow said the other day about McCain, Graham, Boner, et.al.

“The promise was made, and it should be kept,†Landrieu said in the Capitol Wednesday. “And it was our understanding when we voted for that bill that people when they have insurance could keep with what they had. So I’m going to be working on that fix.â€:bird:
In September 2010, all Senate Democrats, including Landrieu, voted to reject a plan Republicans said would have killed Obama administration regulations that now have resulted in the cancellation of insurance policies.
They're so annoying.

Panic: Desperate Democrats Propose Law to Restore Obama's 'Keep Your Plan' Pledge
Wouldn't that kind of defeat Obamacare and their path to nationalizing the medical industry?
Promise my ass. It was a purposly written and executed lie.
With this cast of morons, it's too hard to tell if what they do is by design, or pure stupidity.
Right now, the only thing more stupid than their policies and programs, is the spin of their fellating supporters.
I'm voting for by design at this point. Obamacare was a means to an end to get us to single payer. And what better way to get us there than to have the original plan so screwed up once it becomes law that...to the Libs...there is only ONE remedy.

When it goes under 40, I think many heads will explode.
Nah they will say the polls are lies. Then the liar will lie about the lying polls. A lot of the lies should then cancel out.

This was designed to look bad for private insurance companies so that most of the American people would show their anger and disgust by blaming insurance companies and jumping on the Obamacare bandwagon. Talk about your ultimate backfire.
I'm getting the notion that libs don't really understand the basics of how insurance works.

Ditto what Big said.
I would also like to add people bought what the **** they wanted, because they could... See we know you mother****ers didn't buy shit because you can't afford anything that isn't given to you, which leads me to believe it was the smart conservative working class who was paying for their insurance and if they bought it, it was because it was the coverage they needed and wanted. See we are smart enough and hard working enough to work for what we need instead of having to beg the government to do it for us, you sorry scum sucking primitive diseases.
We aren't nuanced to realize that insurance that costs more and covers less is actually better for us.
I'm getting the notion that libs don't really understand the basics of how insurance works.
