The only thing DUmpmonkiez hate more than America is successful American Business... i.e. McDonald's.
If an entry level job aimed at teens can't afford to pay their workers... nay, SLAVES!!!! a living wage, then they should be destroyed!
Of course, the real outrage starts when a non-typical McD's wage earner has to call the Corporation (hiss hiss) and complain she can't raise her kids on a part-time job! OMG! http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023959302
When Nancy Salgado, the employee at the center of this latest storm, called the McResource line to tell them she was having to ration food and couldn't take her kids to the doctor, the helpful employee on the other end of the line didn't offer to raise her wages or sign her up for health benefits, but advised her instead about the various federal government programs she could avail of.
Now- note that there isn't any info on Ms Salgado- like if she is a single mom, her position in the fast food place, her pay, her job status (part time, full, etc). Just that the evil company helpfully points out the Uncle Barry would love to give her money. (the bastards)
Perhaps I'm being unreasonable, but it seems to me that when Republicans are so vocal about how much they hate government programs like SNAP benefits (aka food stamps) and Medicaid and indeed anything that makes life a little more feasible for low-income or no-income Americans, they should surely be able to work up a small sweat at such a blatant example of the system being gamed.
Oh, I would have suggested to Ms D that she stay in school, not have kids, graduate college and maybe, MAYBE get a job as a manager of a McDs... to start with.
McDonald's have tried to do damage control on the phone call, claiming that the recording was " not an accurate portrayal of the resource line" because it was "very obviously" edited. The full 14-minute version of the call was provided to numerous medial outlets, however, and the facts remain unchanged: Salgado was told to seek out government assistance instead of being given a raise
So, let me get this right. Ms. D, some lowly payed worker at McDs, calls corporate HQ for a raise and speaks to the help line for 14 minutes, records it, and releases an edited version of the tape through- no doubt- a liberal front, and it's not the whole story?
Color me shocked!

Selective editing is a trademark of democRaTicks.
GNads, being one of the exceptions. She doesn't need to edit her perfection. :lmao:

Fast food jobs at McDonalds are start up jobs, minimum wage jobs, not jobs aimed at supporting a family.
You liberals want McDonalds and other fast food restaraunts to pay $15.00 an hour in wages then get prepared to pay $10.00 or more for a hamburger.
My husband had a real life experience with this type of event.
He was in a fast food place. Two young men came in with exact change for what they wanted to order, (the same thing they always got when they came in, so they said).
The waitress actually explained to them about the increse in the minimum wage (They were all for the increase in the minimym wage.) and it was the reason for the increse.
They were shocked to find out actions have consequenses.
My husband donated the rest of the money they needed to pay for thier order.

Oh, and it's not up to McResource to give her a McRaise. It's up to the McFranchise Owner to offer her a McRaise based upon the McMerits of her McWork ethic.
If you don't like it, then you libs can McMind your own McBusiness or you risk getting your McTeeth punched down your McThroat.
.

Wait why are the DUmmies bitching that she was told to get food stamps? I thought being on them was wonderful. I thought food stamps created jobs.

Probably because it wasn't a DUmmie on the record that made the suggestion. it is only OK if it comes from the left.

I want to flip burgers part time and make a $100,000.00 a year....am I being unreasonable?
-
McDonalds directed her to a bunch of government programs. Isn't that what liberals wanted?

USA4ME, :lmao:
Does the author of the piece really believe that a person can just call up corporate HQ, serve up a sob story, and get a raise & benefits? Do they really think it works that way? It makes the author look extremely stupid.

That's all part of being a DUmmy - expecting any full time job to pay enough to raise a family. Specialization, economic rents, value of marginal product...all lost on a DUmmy. A man
who allocates capital and plans a business, taking on total risk, should have the same prospects and expectations as the dropout flipping his burger.
Once a DUmmy, always a DUmmy.

....and that get mad if you point that out to them when you fire them for "just smoking a little pot" on the job.
They think they're making you rich when they're actually just making you sick.
-
Horrible inequities like this are a tragic consequence of paying people what their work is worth to you, instead of basing it on what they need.
:sarcasm:
Even edited, it seemed to me like the personnel folks were trying to give her helpful suggestions above and beyond any actual responsibility to her, but all she wanted was for them to pay her more, when in fact she could be replaced in an hour by someone willing to work at her present pay rate.

That's right. A dollar in food stamp welfare generates enormous economic activity.
If everyone got unlimited food stamps it would usher in an era of prosperity beyond description.
On the other hand, a dollar paid to a moonbat clerk at McD's helps to buy a doobie.
The buck goes through a secret tunnel under the border and straight into a huge bale of currency somewhere in northern mexico.

taking on total risk
BFDU, I remember reading a thread over there some time ago. The DUmmie asked, "what risk, really, is a business owner taking? A paper cut?"
He actually pictured an entrepreneur as wearing a top hat, monocle, and spats, countin da money. I felt like punching him.

To want it? Nah. To actually GET it? Yeah, you're pretty much out to lunch.
-
If I owned that Franchise, she would be looking for a new job.

That's even better than a perpetual motion machine.....and even more unlikely to exist.

Countin da money? I hire somebody to do that. Now, taking a swim in it in my olympic swimming pool... that's all me! And it's always monocle mondays for me, just to keep up appearances.
-
When Nancy Salgado,
Just call her who she is: Nancy Strawman. So, employees get on the horn to Corporate and demand payraises?
Since when?
If I owned that Franchise, she would be looking for a new job.
In about 5 minutes after she hung up.

These are the same people that think a surgeon and a cashier are supposed to make the same thing...
I bagged grocery's when I was 16 and made minimum wage. I am pretty sure that wage was not meant to raise a family on, but I could be crazy.

Don't you see how fair that would be? Why should a surgeon get paid more than a stoner DUmmy?

I guess gold and aluminum should be the exact same price too according to DUmmies.
-

Which kinda blows their "each according to his abilities" mantra all to hell. If I was a (D)Ummie and had to live with all of those ideological conflictions, I'd just have to kill myself.
For the further advancement of mankind, you understand.
-

Yes because it is unfair that you can virtually have all the aluminum you want, but can't afford gold to wrap up your leftovers.

Lead trumps gold, any day of the week.

I went to the link and listened to the recording of the call. Nancy didn't ask for a raise--at least not in the abridged portion that they released--she only asked:
I wanted more information about some help that I need.
The DUmmies sure are ignorant about working life, jobs, and such.
The McResource line sounds like a pretty typical employee assistance hotline.
DUmmies, you don't call the employee assistance hotline to ask for a raise, you talk to your boss. Nadin it if you don't believe me.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are employee benefit programs offered by many employers. EAPs are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being. EAPs generally include short-term counseling and referral services for employees and their household members.
Employees and their household members may use EAPs to help manage issues in their personal lives. EAP counselors typically provide assessment, support, and referrals to additional resources such as counselors for a limited number of program-paid counseling sessions. The issues for which EAPs provide support vary, but examples include:
substance abuse
emotional distress
major life events, including births, accidents and deaths
health care concerns
financial or non-work-related legal concerns
family/personal relationship issues
work relationship issues
concerns about ageing parents

To be fair...
...those are some really good nuggets.
On what planet? Ewww.
I love it when they think they can get paid more than a manager and that this will somehow make their lives all better.
DUmmies, think about it--if you have a family of four with an income of $15K/year, taking advantage of all the programs available to you will leave you with MORE disposable income than a family of four making $60K/year.
This is fair how, again?

Most large companies do provide training aids and simulators, so, yes, I can see that. :-)
