In Boston speech, Obama defends national health care law
Source: Boston Globe

President Obama gave a vociferous defense of his signature health care law on Wednesday in Boston, returning to the intellectual birthplace of the legislation as he attempted defend his signature accomplishment after a difficult debut.

“Yes, this is hard. The health care system’s a big system, and it’s complicated,” Obama said at Faneuil Hall. “If it was hard doing it just in one state, it’s hard doing it in 50 states -- especially when the governors of a bunch of states, and half of Congress, don’t want to help.”

“But it’s important,” he added, before pounding on the podium. “We have to keep moving forward -- just like you did in Massachusetts.”

Obama’s health law with its insurance mandate, subsidies for low-income people, and online market place won narrow approval in Congress in 2010, survived a Supreme Court challenge, and failed to be the fatal political weapon that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Republicans hoped in the 2012 presidential election.

alp227 left out a few quotes... (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014635809)

"I've also been asked several times," an impassioned 0bama told the rapt crowd, "why a man would have to buy a policy that covers maternity, and why a woman would have to buy a policy that covers prostate issues.
Well, we met with the good folks at MSNBC, and it occurred to us: could we say without doubt that Chris Hayes doesn't have a vagina? Were we prepared to say without debate that Rachel Maddow doesn't have a penis
and testicles? Look at the way Chris Matthews coos like a little bitch whenever I open my mouth. You telling me he's not packing some girl-meat?"

Desperation is setting in.  Barquis' favorability is tanking and the real fun stuff hasn't even hit yet.

IOW - " Don't blame me for this - the ACA isn't 'Obamacare', it's 'Romneycare', and I expect you all to address it as such from now on !"

We have to keep moving forward to higher premiums, higher deductibles, higher copays, and move forward from the plans that we ignorantly thought were good plans that we already had. Thank God 0bama swooped in and saved us from quality health care at low prices, just like he saved us from cheap energy.  Forward comrades it's a bright new day with big brother at the helm.

Low monthly payment, low deductible, low copay is "substandard" in Obama's opinion.

Much higher monthly payment, very high deductible, much higher copay....now you're talking first class policy in Obama's opinion.

I like the way he calls your very good policy that you're happy with "substandard"....and his very costly, piss poor policy much better. :bird: :mental: :banghead: :hammer: :argh: :fuelfire:

Gawd Awmighty, I never thought I'd see reportage as friendly to incompetence and creepy commerce as the Washington Post merely because it was a Democrat doing the cheating and lying. Obama is really a terrible creep.

Come on man, we have always been at war with Eurasia to say otherwise is treason. Obama has raised chocolate rations from 30 to 25 grams, you should be celebrating his generosity.

The latest lib meme is that "saying a bicycle is a car, doesn't make it a car". The implication being that real hard working tax paying Americans were too stupid to know that they own insurance bicycles instead of insurance cars. They should be happy that they had their insurance bicycles forcibly taken away, and an insurance car foisted on them.

Actually we had cars before, now we are forced to ride mopeds and they tell us we can go faster now.

What was he doing in Boston besides tying up traffic?

It was a world series game day for the Red Sox.  I swear he does think he is King.

He is trying his hardest to tie Obamacare to Romneycare and republicans. Confuse the low info voters into thinking this pile of dog poop is the republicans fault is the only hope for the Dems in 2014.

Apparently King Barky the Liar knew in 2010 that upwards of 100 million people would lose their insurance. Remember this was all because some 15 million people didn't have insurance and supposedly wanted to have it. If a private company/corporation had done what the Obama regime did, they would be in jail for a very long time. This an Enron scandal times 1000.
