I had to look that up.  Disgusting.  I hope if they are trying that here they get thrown in prison for being pedophiles.

It's to set a sharia precedent. Any place Islam is observed is considered Muslim land. Thus, to their thinking, if Islamic holidays are observed they are obligated to assume control by any means available.
