Parent Files Bullying Complaint After Son's Team Loses 91-0
Aledo (TX) High School beat Fort Worth Western Hills (TX) 91-0 over the weekend, and a Western Hills parent has filed a bullying complaint against Aledo coach Tim Buchanan, according to Ryan Osborne of the Star-Telegram.
When you look at the score, it doesn't look pretty. Aledo, which is ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press statewide Class 4A poll, blew Western Hills off the field. It didn't look good as the game approached.
..
It appears the Buchanan did everything he could, outside of taking a knee on every play, to not run up the score. The Bearcats scored 28 points in each of the first two quarters, and it probably could have been a lot worse.
Western Hills coach John Naylor didn't believe that there was anything wrong with the game, according to Osborne. He understood that he was facing the No. 1 team and was overmatched.
Texas school districts are required to provide bullying reports on their websites. One parent decided that this was worth reporting.

We need a crack team of DU Sports Justice Experts to adjudicate these issues. There needs to be an even number, too, so they can be undecided when appropriate. Get on this right away, DUmmies.

5. 91-0 is no longer a competition. It's no longer fun. It's no longer appropriate to continue.
Someone should have ended the game. Not that I think it should have been the exclusive role of Buchanan. But someone should have put an end to it.
These are high schoolers, for God's sake.

8. Are you suggesting children aren't subject to emotional distress?

11. No, kids are subject to the same kind of emotionally instability as adults.
Couple that with inevitable naivety or ignorance of a young teenager and you have a recipe for psychic disaster.
:rotf: :lmao: :rotf: :lmao: :rotf:
Psychic disaster!!
"Why did you have to kill everyone in the house?"
"Because 50 years ago my HS football team lost 91-0."

47. With a record like that, my question is how such a disparity in the same league could exist.
Do they get extra funding because they come from a well-to-do area?

17. Anti-bullying is about to jump the shark
One of my papers is running a series on Non-Verbal Bullying. Oh my.
Turns out allowing someone to sit alone at lunch is bullying.
Not speaking to someone for any reason is bullying.
I grew up in a place where high school teams of knock-kneed white boys played basketball against teams full of candidates for Division I NCAA scholarships. The black kids destroyed the white kids - humiliated them, half the time in EXTREMELY unfriendly gyms. I vividly recall anti-white racial epithets raining down from the stands, extreme aggression on the court, and generally poor sportsmanship on the part of the black kids.
And it was NEVER in the papers. Never on TV. No liberals wrung their hands. No one, not even coaches or teachers, tried to tone it down. It was just how it was: the honkies took their beating and went home.
Then, of course, the honkies went to college and on to rewarding lives and careers, while the players and students from the other schools went on to things like murder, prison, drugs, and, for something like five of them, meaningful professional basketball careers.
Life has its little compensations.

I lost at horse shoes....big time....I'm so ashamed.....now gimme all the gummint freebies I'm entitled to.
Guess the losing players can always claim PTSD and join Lady Freedom in her quest for sympathy.
I love the DUmmie comment about disparity and wealth.
Our district is a very small 3A in one of the poorest counties in Texas. For the last 4 years we have beat damn near everyone and in preseason we can't get large 4A schools to play us because their coaches know we'll beat them then they have to justify how a school that is barely large enough to be 3A kicked their ass. They're afraid they'll lose their jobs but we've been blessed with some incredible talent and a great coaching staff.
In the last 4 years almost every game was started by our team making a touchdown in the first 15 seconds of the game.
No DUmmie, money isn't the answer. It's hard work and determination for the most part.
