If you don't think there is a strong concerted effort to Troll liberal sites like DU.....
then think again.
Yet sometimes paranoia turns up in the oddest of places, like the comments sections of blog posts. As Media Matters for America reports, based on NPR media reporter David Folkenflik’s new book Murdoch’s World, Fox News’s PR agents fanned out to create dummy accounts in order to rebut critical material in the comments sections of blog posts regarding Fox News. Folkenflik, via Media Matters:
On the blogs, the fight was particularly fierce. Fox PR staffers were expected to counter not just negative and even neutral blog postings but the anti-Fox comments beneath them. One former staffer recalled using twenty different aliases to post pro-Fox rants. Another had one hundred. Several employees had to acquire a cell phone thumb drive to provide a wireless broadband connection that could not be traced back to a Fox News or News Corp account. Another used an AOL dial-up connection, even in the age of widespread broadband access, on the rationale it would be harder to pinpoint its origins. Old laptops were distributed for these cyber operations. Even blogs with minor followings were reviewed to ensure no claim went unchecked.

11. Being on MIRT has been a real eye opener
There are a huge number of trolls that come to DU... I bet fully 50% of new people are banned very quickly. The actual political trolls don't bother me very much. I don't think they fool anyone here and are, for the most part, spotted and taken out very quickly. I find the ones that obsessively sign up over and over just to stir up shit to be far more disturbing... There are ones that sign up several times a day, every day... And have done so for years... Yes, years. I can't imagine how one could function in life with such a compulsion nagging at them like that all the time.

14. It's easy to identify the 8-10 new trolls/day who get banned right away.
But a bit harder to nail the stealthy ones who get past 100, then 1,000 posts, and even go on to have several highly recommended concerned posts.
They, too, are here and they do a lot of damage by their presence.
You better believe it.

23. just volunteer for the MIRT team like I did last spring and you will be shocked...
at the number of trolls and malicious intruders attacking and working this site all day and night.
And they are very persistent.
Volunteer for a tour of MIRT duty and help the cause folks.
We protect this site together as a community.
It takes a digital village....

It takes a digital village idiot.
Which reminds me, I should check on a mole.

I've retired from moling. I tried a couple backhanded attempts without any hint of skuduggery in hiding IP's or whatnot but when I got all 7 deleted at the same time I figured they were going scorched earth. I'm sure that any libtard that wants to get on DU that shares my dynamic IP 3-number prefix will be nailed, though they may go down to machine level.
Indeed, I'm expanding BantheGOP to other sources like Kos and my local paper (through Marurice Ramtor), but it's more of an experiment in posting with an obvious outed troll presence to see how long it takes to get tombstoned from those sources.
Having said that, I can't really imagine a more dreary existence than to be the Internet's answer to Nazi brownshirts, the DU MIRT goon.
-
Why is the truemud primitive so worried about moles?
Isn't this something for his betters to worry about?
truemud should be like a good cobbler and stick to his last, rather than worrying about things he has not the cerebral capacity to understand and the means to control.
Just post away, truemud, and don't worry about it.
-
And most of us are hiding in plain sight Trumud. BOO!
-
One of the best covers for long term moles is to start one of these anti-troll threads. Everyone should do one once in awhile.

Trumad is the best troll name I've seen in a long time - It indicates insanity (Truly Mad) and makes fun of H. Truman at the same time.
I'm stunned they allow Trumad to keep posting. I would have banned his troll ass years ago.
-
You're right, trumad and cali...there are trolls everywhere at DU. And you know the best part?
Ain't a ****ing thing you can do to stop it. You people are batshit crazy, and about the only way you can spot the moles is because they're the ones who aren't as batshit crazy KoolAid chugging as you fools are. We're the ones who echo your posts, but on OUR side of the keyboard, we can't even hit the Post Reply button without laughing our balls off.
I've got moles who have marched in lockstep with longtime DUers. I've got moles who at the same time have mocked some of your most revered members, and yet still I remain, in all my hidden glory. And all the while, you eat the shit I dish out with a spoon, and come back for seconds. It's amazing, really. How demoralized will you be when my moles out themselves, and show you who they truly are?
Where will your god be then?
-
One shouldn't discount the entertainment, too.
There's few things funnier than when one mole gets into it with another mole, neither of them realizing both of them are moles.
The truemud primitive needs to get mellow about it.

The primitives need to acquire a sense of humor.
They've been had, and everybody but the primitives seem to see this.
They haven't been had by us or other decent and civilized people, but by their own overlords, their own masters.
Remember, Skins's island was founded by professional Democrats and liberals to identify, attract, and segregate the weirder elements among them from the public eye; to hide them up in the attic, where nobody'd see them cavort, romp, and play.
Bread and circuses, to keep them amused, while those serious about politics and government were left alone.
What unexpectedly made their job easier was the primitives' own bloated sense of self-importance; they actually believe they count, that their feelings and opinions are important to their masters.
:rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
The primitives have been had. The sooner they understand this, the better they'll be able to cope with it.
A few of course now realize it--think about the primitives of yore, who aren't around any more.
And not only the ones who've left permanently--such as many of the Top DUmmies of past years--but also the ones who show up less and less. The sparkling old dude comes to mind; he's embarrassed about hanging around much because he now sees that he's been had, a laughingstock to those he thought took him seriously.

The idiots at the DUmp have no clue how far embedded we are into their little section of the interwebs.
What they fail to realize is that the DNC has their own hoard of trolls on DU, pimping out the party line and crushing all unbelievers.

It's amazing how they get ll bent out of shape over our watching them but they rarely say boo about CU or the Freepers or other sites that are watching them to include Rush Limbaugh ,who I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he too has a mole or three himself through his staffers.

111. I'm sorry, but I consider myself a "true" Democrat, and I won't vote for Hillary.
I have never, ever voted for anyone BUT a Democrat, for ANY office, but I am not happy with the right wing movement of my party these days, and Hillary is a prime example of that movement. I will not vote for her.
Melanie is pushing the limits again. She had better not get TS'd. The Tookie Williams of the world need her.

So the whole article is about LW individuals and sites that want to spew their lies unchallenged. And how dare people come along and show our worldview to be wrongheaded.
They are so weak.
