(Reuters) - A shooter opened fire on Monday at a middle school in Sparks, Nevada, but there is no ongoing threat, said a police dispatcher who could not provide details on any possible casualties.
Local television station KOLO reported that police believed the suspect in the shooting was neutralized.

Just saw a report via twitter that the hospital in Reno has two patients from the school shooting...both minors and both in critical condition.

So sick of these idiots. I mean why in the hell if you truly believed it was your right to own a gun would you do something so stupid like this unless you were completely nuts and got the gun wrongly?
Bet Obama will be talking about this but not the hate crime up north.

Nope he'll just use this as more grist for the mill to try and erase the 2nd Amendment.

USA Today reporting the shooter is KIA

One of my friend's sons goes to that school. He said a kid brought a gun to school and shot his math teacher, according to my friend.
-
FNC now reporting two dead and two in critical condition.

Another school shooting.

Another school shooting.
Harry Reid wailing about eeeeeeeee-vil guns killing chill'uns in his state and calling for more gun control in 3... 2... 1... :whatever:
-
I'd say odds are that the shooter is another liberal misfit.
-
The cops said they had not used their guns, so how did the kid die? Suicide?
One school staff member was killed and two kids in the hospital.

The article linked above said the kid offed himself after shooting a couple classmates and the teacher that died soon after.

Noo! It was the gun that shot everyone!
-
Nevermind the fact that this CHILD wasn't supposed to have the gun (i.e., he came about it illegally) and even if it had been stored properly, once again, if someone is bound and determined to get their hands on a weapon, then that's exactly what's going to happen.
Again, blame the user, not the tool.
And in other news, how many "yutes" with illegally-obtained guns offed each other in Detroit, Chicago, NYC, LA, or DC today/

Prayers to the families involved.
When I was in grade school we said the Pledge every morning, we said the blessing at lunch, sometimes we read a few Bible versus after lunch, we were punished if we misbehaved, if we had a competition (academic or otherwise) there was only one winner, guns were viewed as tools to be respected, and children were taught academics instead of indoctrinated with liberal talking points.
There wasn't a whole lot of school shootings back then.
Since then the Pledge has been done away with, prayer and the Bible have almost been outlawed, misbehaving falls into all sorts of gray areas, having only one winner traumatizes folks so ways are found to give everyone some sort of award, guns are demonized constantly, and academics have taken a backseat to liberal indoctrination.
I wonder if there is any correlation?

I don't remember any.
At all. None.

2:20 p.m. update:
It came as no surprise to Michael Landsberry’s family that the Sparks Middle School math teacher is being called a hero for trying to get a student to put his gun down before being shot and killed.
“To hear he was trying to protect those kids, that he stepped up and tried to stop the situation, doesn’t surprise me at all,†said Chanda Landsberry, who is married to Michael’s brother younger brother, Reggie. “He could have ducked and hid, but he didn’t. That’s not who he is.â€
“He was trained to help.â€
A former Marine, the 45-year-old Landsberry was also a member of the Nevada Army National Guard.
The teacher is a former Marine who died helping students.
