*** Help a DUer *** Friday 10/18/13 (please keep kicked!)
Last edited Fri Oct 18, 2013, 12:34 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2)
Due to a prolonged family crisis, I've been largely absent from both Wishadoo and DU. I'm very sorry to the DUers who have needed my help and I haven't been available. (I've also been waiting for the IT team to upgrade Wishadoo, which will include a DEDICATED FUNDRAISING SECTION with tools to make fundraisers easier for all of us; hoping that takes place over the weekend.)
I have continued to try to obtain legal guidance regarding structuring Wishadoo as a member-owned co-op, as I've always intended, but have encountered the same wall I've found for years: Such a thing hasn't been done yet, so finding legal guidance has been next to impossible. Imagine if Facebook, Ebay, craigslist and even Angie's List were all member-owned cooperatives; all of those tools are at Wishadoo, and I have always envisioned the community as a member-owned enterprise. I'm not going to give up.
The reason I bring this up here now is because I heard you all loud and clear when many of you said it would be much easier for you if you could contribute x amount and not have to choose a Wishlist post; choosing is too hard. I hear you, and I'm trying to find a way to do this -- via this cooperative approach -- so that option can be part of the process of engaging at Wishadoo.
For now, however, this post is like the others (see my journal), where I share the DUer's name and link to the Wishlist post for more info. Since I have been out of pocket I fear I'm missing someone. Please let me know if I've missed anyone who has a Wishlist post and needs help!!!
And for those of you with Wishlist posts, please remember that you can create your own OPs here at DU to bring even more attention to your situation! Also, if the amount raised is different from what shows on the widget (perhaps you received donations via snail mail), please let me know!!!
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THESE INDIVIDUALS HERE AT DU AND/OR AT WISHADOO. All of the ones listed below are indeed fundraisers and a fundraising widget is included in the Wishlist post. Some of these are urgent!!! Remember, even if you can't help financially, maybe you can suggest resources or simply lend moral support. I've listed them according to date the Wishlist was created for expediency in getting this OP created and posted.

I'm waiting to hear from DUer, maur, to get an update regarding her situation. Her fundraiser expired...without much assistance...so I don't know if her situation has changed since then or not.
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED OTHERS ALONG THE WAY -- AND MANY HAVE BEEN HELPED SIGNIFICANTLY, NOT ONLY FINANCIALLY BUT IN MANY OTHER WAYS!!!

PLEASE ALSO:
* Recommend this thread and keep it kicked for visibility.
* Please scan the Wishlist in general on a regular basis; some posts are simply asking for information. It's not always about money.
* ACKNOWLEDGE these courageous people who have made themselves vulnerable by asking for help. Please offer whatever support you can (information, advice, well wishes, financial or other support, etc.)
* Share Wishadoo! with others (online and in person)...your friends, loved ones, neighbors, co-workers, other networks and organizations; after all, the more who gather...
THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN NEED, HERE AT DU ALONE, THAN PEOPLE WITH RESOURCES TO HELP. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO EXPAND THE WISHADOO COMMUNITY.
* * * * *
ABOUT WISHADOO!: Anyone is welcome to use the tools at Wishadoo, so long as the Terms of Service are adhered to (basically "play nice" and don't lie). Wishadoo! is a comprehensive portal providing tools, resources and inspiration to connect, help/be helped, and cultivate compassion, cooperation and authentic community in myriad ways, online and in our own "backyards." Wishadoo!'s tools have been designed to integrate and be of service to all sectors of community: individuals, neighborhoods, schools, organizations and businesses.
Any contributions to Wishadoo! itself go toward the cost of maintaining the site, NOT toward any Wishlist posts. That takes place one on one, between Wishadoo! members. If you are able to help with costs to keep the site going, I'd appreciate your generosity tremendously and will be forever indebted.

MANY, MANY thanks to those who have already
helped support Wishadoo! in various ways!
For those that don't know, Liberty Belle owns the free rag that gNads contributes to (Can't say works for as she doesn't get paid).

Socialist Steve Dawes should donate the same amount to wisahdoo that was donated to his campaign...Zero.
I wonder what happened to Fat Andy's (?) queer boyfriend? The one that used his ass to park a toy Volkswagen in.

I'm surprised to see Steve is even on the DUmp. I figured he'd still be recovering from the clobbering he got from the frying pan wielding Marta for wasting more money on another city council run.

Our gas has been shut off. We rely on gas for hot water and heating, and while it's still warm in the Eastern US it won't be for long. Plus, not having hot water is already starting to cause us problems.
We need to raise $890.00 ASAP to get our gas reconnected.
Isn't this the same liberal asshat Fat Che's Little Brother who drew those horrible cartoons and got himself smacked around on CU years ago?
How pathetic.

That is like a year's worth of gas payments for me. And I use it for heat and hot water, for a whole family.

He is now known as the primitive that can't be named. That's why I referenced his lard assed boyfriend.
ETA: We all put a copyright notice at the bottom of out posts because he had it at the bottom of his posts. Something along the lines of:

He has probably run up non- payment fees plus the reconnect fee, typical DUmmy deadbeat wants someone else to bail him out..

Too busy getting ass-humped by his lover to open the bills, I'm sure. Posting on DU and getting his rose stemmed come first.

He has to use more supplied natural gas to heat his dwelling? :???:

I have a suggestion for the ass-humped primitive with the $890 gas bill.
Keep wringing your hands over not having gas, and presto!
The friction you make from wringing your hands will keep you warm, while the indigestion you get from worry will make you forget how cold it is to begin with.

I wonder if the dudette has any electricity or a fireplace.
I would use hot plates, crock pots, space heaters, electric blankets and chop some wood. But I'm not a Dummy.

At $10 per gerbil that's 89 gerbils.
Someone needs to save their money for gas rather than buying gerbils.

From tandot's post it appears Amber screwed up her pee pail account. Big surprise there huh?

Uh, one wonders how come the "stewert" primitive's plea isn't listed there.

In regards to Fat Che's Little Brother, I was intentionally being coy. As to the gerbils, have one drive the VW out.

WishaDU's beggar list is hilarious!!
Especially Fat Che's little brother! I hope he freezes to death.

If he can't afford his gas bill, how does he keep a lawyer on retainer?

Do you really want to know, Chris? :runaway:

I actually feel bad for the flea-bitten dog. A few cents worth of apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle of warm water would give that poor dog some relief, very cheaply.
-
Yep, he was going to send some ninja lawyers after us for copyright violations. :ohnoes:
Well, if he can't afford to pay his gas bill, I wouldn't worry about him being able to hire a $200 an hour attorney.

890.00 bucks?? I use gas for heat, stove, water heater and we might get close to that dollar amount the ENTIRE fall and winter...how the hell are they carrying that kind of balance in the summer when gas bills are low?(Mine averages in the low 20's during the summer). Something tells me someone isn't paying their budgeted plan which splits bills to make them more managable throughout the year or they have just barely paid anything and are still carrying some of their previous winter's bill. WTH? And to carry that much, you had to have already hit up the gas company to keep you connected a couple times. doh!

I'm on disability and have a very limited income. Actually I'm quite lucky to be able to pay my monthly bills with my disabillity check but there isnt anything left over for niceties like a guitar. I've always wanted to have a Django Reinhardt style guitar and be able to teach myself to play authentic Gypsy Swing like Django. I've looked around on EBAY and this is the one I wished for//www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Paris-Swing-GG-42-Django-D-Hole-Acoustic-Gyp sy-Jazz-Guitar-/121053697339?pt=Guitar&hash=item1c2f5cd53b. There Are More expensive Models and cheaper models but this one is Mid-Priced and appears to be a little more adaptable to my style. It is $629 but has free standard shipping.
This post should have been addressed to the North Pole.

I guess it never occurred to this leech to move out of New Jersey.

I decided I wanted to teach myself how to play the flute.
To accomplish that, I saved some money and PURCHASED A FLUTE.
Gawd, what a dumbass I am. The next instrument I want to learn is violin. This time I will wish on Unicorn farts.
-
If I was going to teach myself, I would start with something cheap, as in flea market cheap, before I worked up to a serious instrument.

Hey, as long as I'm at it, along with the guitar, throw in a couple of hookers and a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve! I deserve a good time!

Begging...
About the only thing DUers actually put any effort into.
Like I said upthread...Pathetic.

If the DUmmy charged for playing the skin flute, like all male DUmmies do, he would raise the needed funds in no time at all.

After reading some of the tails of woe (real or not) on wishadodo. You have to wonder how totally self absorbed one has to be to come on begging for a guitar of flea collars.

I cannot decide whether this is pitiful, disgusting, or aggravating:

We have three dogs. We go to the vet and BUY the flea products. We do not ask relatives, neighbors, or anonymous strangers to give us money to buy the flea products.
If we could not afford the flea products for our three dogs, or the other stuff necessary for three dogs, we would not have three dogs.
Why can DUmmies not figure this sort of thing out?

This just goes to show why you should never help a DUmmy. Because like feeding a stray cat, once you give money to a DUmmy, it will come back over and over and over again expecting more. It never ends.

Hell, I want a Remington 870 Police model with the wood stock. Maybe I should go to Wishadoo and try to beg for the funds? O-) :whistling:
