Coming from the Daily News, this is . . . interesting.

404s all around.

When New York’s Obamacare website opened for business on Oct. 1, officials announced that it was flooded with 10 million hits — which was seen as a harbinger of massive demand.

Two-and-half weeks later, a more sobering picture emerges from a fog of secrecy. As of Friday, zero people were fully enrolled in a health plan through the site.

Here’s the breakdown on the operation:

Of the millions who have visited NYStateofHealth.ny.gov, 134,000 have finished identity, income and citizenship verifications, learned what tax credits they qualify for and begun to shop.

A smaller number of those 134,000 registrants have picked a plan and committed to paying premiums — though how much smaller is a mystery. Thousands, is all that New York exchange director Donna Frescatore would say.

The next paragraph has the money quote, at the above link.

This is a state that set up its own exchange.  A 'progressive' state.

What a train wreck.

Zero.  Wow.  Also mentioned in the article is the unknown of how policyholders will "pay their bills."  The huge premiums & deductibles will ravage the family budget in no time.  The bill allows for some pretty liberal grace periods before the insurance is cut off, too.  There is no way in hell that this can work.

Just another government idea that will bleed money uncontrollably, never work, and be something to talk about 'doing right' on a stump speech.

Gang, let's remember something.  The goal was and is single-payer.  Do you think that that will be the suggestion offered by the Rats next year? :thatsright:

It's already being floated as the natural resolution to this cluster**** now.

And that natural resolution known as single payer would be more properly known as "Completely Government Run Health-Care". :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

They already covered this on DU.  The lucky folks who are earning a living will have to do a better job of managing their money so they can provide care for those who, through no fault of their own, don't have jobs.

I heard today on FOX that they have to rewrite 5 million codes in the program.

Why don't they just scrap it and start over?

They would have to admit they ****ed up first.  It'll never happen, not from Obama.

I remember back in the Windows 95 days.  Someone brought me their installation media... it was about 15 floppy disks.

Why is it I can actually see that happening?  Yeah, I know, I know, it's the Onion, but someone over at HHS is going, "Damn, we should done that!"
