"I use to vote for both Dems and Republicans" he said (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023877610)
"But not anymore, from now on I am voting the Straight Democratic ticket, and I can't wait to stand in that line and do it this November for Terry"
I said, "Same here Vote early, Vote Often" Then we laughed and walked off in Separate Directions.
That was a Quickie Conversation I had with a Neighbor of mine this morning. He is Retired Military and now Works as a Government Contractor at the Pentagon. He was not Furloughed but he told me His Sister, and a few Cousins and some friends were.
I wonder how many people who feel like him will be expressing their anger Come Novemeber in VA???
Unreal....
You know what it is with these "conversion" stories? Liberals are so insecure that they will make up lies and tall tales to tell their fellow DUers so that:
A. They feel more secure thinking everyone approves of the way they think.
B. They get huzzahs and hosannas from their fellow DUers, which is the equivalent of prepubescent boys doing handstands on the playground, trying to attract the attention of the girls.
C. They feel more secure in the false realization that they are "winning" some sort of ideological war with conservative thought.
The most idiotic part? Their fellow DUers, as naive as they are, really lap it up. Only once and a great while someone gets called on bouncy, and that's usually from a troll or a mole.
:whatever:

Am I not mistaken that the net result of people being "furloughed" is that they actually got an extra paid vacation? One of the few bills passed during the [strike]shutdown[/strike] slimdown was to restore all pay to furloughed workers, which meant they were paid to stay home or do whatever, and as far as I know, their regular vacation days were not affected.
In Washington state, they even got unemployment checks. The state has no intention of trying to recoup that money.Something that you, and others, may find interesting.
GOBUCKS, I tried to detect a pattern in Heather's ignorant posting. Is it the more important words she capitalized? That theory doesn't hold consistently though, since Neighbor, Sister, and Cousin were capped, but not friends.
Thousands of furloughed federal employees filed for state unemployment benefits during the weeks they were stranded without a paycheck. One guess who as to who will be left with the bill.
But now that Congress has approved back pay for them, the states want that money back.
Data released by the Labor Department early Thursday, show 70,000 federal employees filed for unemployment the first week of the government shutdown.
According to separate data obtained by CNNMoney, federal workers filed a total of 20,000 claims in Maryland, 16,000 claims in Washington D.C., 7,600 claims in Pennsylvania and around 6,000 in Virginia during the entire 16-day shutdown. Even though the shutdown has ended, more claims could still be processed in the next few days.

It's unclear just how much money was overpaid.

from now on I am voting the Straight Democratic ticket
Coming from anyone but a moonbat, it would be "democrat ticket".Most of them think that the US is a democracy rather than a constitutional/representative republic.
I have never heard a normal person, regardless of their politics, say "democratic ticket".
The "ic" just doesn't exist in normal conversation, and for whatever reason that really pisses off the moonbats.
Most of them think that the US is a democracy rather than a constitutional/representative republic.
And they claim we know nothing about civics.
