A 32 year old mom posts a pic of herself on facebook with her kids and apparently offended some people. Normally I would not post a story like this but one part of the article stood out.

Quote
That post brought a frenzy of negative responses, including, “Those precious little things need their mommy more than they need you to have glamour muscles,” “Not that I *NEED* an excuse for not working out, but here's mine you self-righteous idiot … fibromyalgia,” “You are part of the body shaming problem that is going on in North America and other parts of the world,” and “You are a bully with a super inflated sense of your own self.”
The quote in bold just screams DUmmie. I wonder what her DU name is?

I think it's great that Mom is keeping fit. We spaced our kids out a bit- three years between each, but that's a personal choice.
Yeah- sounds like a DUmpmonkie throwing poo- "I hate you because I am ugly!!!"

Bingo.  I have two cousins with diseases that are SSDI eligible.  One has fibromyalgia, and she worked for years with it.  She gave birth to a beautiful little boy earlier this year, and she's chosen to be a stay at home mommy, but her husband is working to support them.  (By the way, he needs a double lung transplant, is on the transplant list, and still works full time.  He can't do strenuous labor, but he can sit at a computer with his oxygen tank just fine.)

My other cousin has Multiple Sclerosis, and has been on disability since she got the diagnosis. Now, I've spent a fair amount of time with her, and looking at how she spends her day, she could do some sort of work.  She might need space for a sitting and standing desk so that she could change positions as necessary, but she could be doing something.

How do I get "Toots" to start followin' this regime? Heh, heh! Although at 58, it may not be as simple as it seems.

That pretty much explains my situation. My problem seems to be by divulging my meds, employers tend to walk away.

Employers are pretty much single minded. If ya take pain meds they think yer high at work. Nothing could be farther from the truth. While someone who has no pain may get high, those of us who take it for legitimate reasons don't feel a thing, other than perhaps a "dulling" of what haunts us.

Pretty much impossible to 'splain that to an employer who has to worry about law suits.

I'm 60 years old, so it would be simple for me to go the hand-out, but I just ain't built that way.

I have ta tell ya, when "Toots" went down it was tempting, but I figured we could do better. Thank the good Lord she's okay and now we will prolly make it.

I wish a couple of people I know could read this.  They'd be a lot better off.  H5, AR. :cheersmate:

So the **** what? You got FM. No one condemned your sorry ass for having FM. We might condemn you for being a sorry ass but that has to do with your whining, not your FM. Why diminish this person's accomplishments?

This is what Proglodytes have done to our society.

Rather than celebrating success everyone has to share the misery.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over twenty years ago. I still work.

I hear people that are first diagnosed with it and act like it's the end of the world, it does suck, but you have to adapt and deal with it. Of course many simply call it "fibro." Nick names for diseases and medications....gotta love it. I need some Lorries (Lortabs) and Zanny Bars (Xanax).  :-)  I hear that all the time, drives me crazy.

'Hot Mom' Maria Kang suspended from Facebook for 'hate speech'
http://www.news10.net/news/article/264373/2/Hot-Mom-Maria-Kang-banned-from-Facebook-for-hate-speech

Quote
ELK GROVE, Calif. - Fitness advocate and mother of three, Maria Kang, is an avid blogger and Facebook user, but her most recent post didn't sit well with Facebook, and some people are now calling her a bully.

Kang made headlines recently for posting her "No Excuse" photo on Facebook. In it, Kang is shown posing in a sports bra next to her three boys with the caption, "What's your excuse?"

"I'm just saying the truth. We've become a politically correct society," Kang said.

Someone had a major case of butthurt.  :mental:

I'm surprised that me and others from here haven't had our accounts banned.
