Thousands of doctors fired by United HealthCare
In the midst of major changes in health care, United HealthCare has sent thousands of pink slips to Connecticut doctors. Those letters were sent out to doctors caring for 'Medicare Advantage' patients. It's a plan, marketed to Seniors to provide additional services through UnitedHealthCare. A mix of primary care and specialty doctors are affected by it. And it comes at a questionable time. Open enrollment for Medicare starts next Tuesday, and it's still not clear at this time as to which doctors are still in the United network.

....but if you like your doctor you can keep him.....you may have a problem finding out where he went but you can keep him.

I cannot keep mine, she beat feet a year ago to go in administrating duty's for public health.
For 15 years she had been my PC, been with me through thick and thin, then one day out of the blue she canceled all appointments and was gone. A new one came in cold on all cases, hard to update a new DR. on the last 15 years in 20 minutes of time.
By some coincidence my heart Dr. weeks later went on a 3 year vacation. I did receive a call from his office after he returned and wanted to know if I had gotten another doctor. No, as long as his office kept refilling my medication, and BTW I asked if my Dr. had run off with my PC. No sense of humor those medical desk clerks.

That and your premiums will be reduced by 3000% and your employer will give you a raise.

They fired the doctors or the doctors refused to take their lousy pittance for their fees? Most doctors don't make a profit on medicare patients and since Obama took a 500+ billion cut out of medicare to pay for Obamacare, who can be surprised?
For years, my doctor has had a big sign on her reception counter. "WE DON'T TAKE MEDICARE".

Wow. It will make it very difficult for Medicare patients to utilize open enrollment if they are unsure of what doctors are available, especially if they live in a rural area that already has limited options.
