Right wing pollster Rasmussen now has Obama at 50% approval:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama's job performance.
The GOP's numbers are plunging:
Gallup: Republican Party Favorability Sinks to Record Low
<...>
the Republican Party is now viewed favorably by 28% of Americans, down from 38% in September. This is the lowest favorable rating measured for either party since Gallup began asking this question in 1992.

7. It's only one poll
RCP averages show a slight uptick in the Prez's approval ratings, but nothing major...yet. Hopefully the trend will continue (it usually takes a week or so for events to make a difference in the poll averages), but I think the celebrations are a little premature. And yes, I know RCP is a Republican-leaning site, but their polling data is usually sound (or "skewed", as the Tea Party cult would say).

What is this, American Idol? Is there some reason why anyone should give a country f*** how popular 0dumbass is? ACA is the law of the land now. It's a WRECK. 2014 and 2016 will be where people express themselves. If we put decent candidates out there, we have a chance to take it all and repeal this terrible law. If not, we only have ourselves to blame.
Agree totally. I had heard that Australia had been having seesaw battles over universal health care, depending on which party was in power. I miss LC at times like this . . . and a lot of other times.
Not only do I think that the groundswell to repeal and replace this will be damn near 60% of the populace, I think that, even with amnesty, the Dems will be the minority party for a long, long time.

I hope Obama makes a not so graceful swan dive into the single digit range.
Republicans More Likely to See Own Party Unfavorably
Self-identified Republicans are more than twice as likely to view their own party unfavorably (27%) as Democrats are to see their own party unfavorably (13%). The GOP's unfavorable rating among Republicans is up eight points from September, compared with a one-point rise in Democratic Party unfavorables among Democrats. These findings may be consistent with the widely circulated narrative that the Republican Party is internally splintered on how best to handle the budgetary negotiations.
Independents, meanwhile, remain unimpressed with both parties: Thirty-two percent view the Democratic Party favorably, while 27% view the Republican Party favorably.
