Even amid furloughs, some Texans cheer Cruz

Source: AP-Excite

By WILL WEISSERT

HOUSTON (AP) - Thanks to Texas' new senator, Dale Huls is out of a job_at least for now. Yet Huls has never been prouder that he voted for him.

"Without Ted Cruz this doesn't happen," said Huls, a NASA systems engineer who was among roughly 3,000 federal employees furloughed from Houston's Johnson Space Center after tea party Republicans triggered the partial government shutdown.

"This is something Americans have to get used to," said Huls. "Even if it affects your livelihood, you've got to stand up."

Perhaps more than anywhere else, Texas embodies the factors behind the shutdown: big government and the rebellion against it.

FULL story at link.

2. How severe does hypocrisy have to be to be considered a mental illness?

Huls is crazy if he thinks NASA isn't the highest imaginable expression of "big government" there is. And if he had one iota of self-respect, he'd never have accepted a position there.

This is one of the scariest things about teabaggers: even the putatively smart ones are batshit insane.
The DUmmies have said in the past that conservatives shouldn't be allowed to collect from the social security system that they have paid into for years, now we can't have government jobs either.  We must surrender all government jobs to democrats.

4. And, I'm sure....

....If you are a NASA systems engineer, with a decent salary and benefits, you can put some money away to get through these times. The average government worker doing run of the mill clerical jobs who live paycheck to paycheck, not so much.

I've got mine, screw you.

Asshole.
Yeah, screw you.

6. Huls Can Help Here Cruz By Permanently Eliminating His Own Job

Being enamored by Senator Cruz clamor for smaller government, can we have Dale Huls list the non-essentials in NASA that can be discarded beginning with his own job?
NASA systems engineers jobs should be passed out by political patronage to democrat party loyalists.

We should just shut up and let big government run on unchecked and on top of that, let it be run exclusively by democrats.  Got it.

History has shown, over and over, that there is no negotiating with an ideologue.  This is why, DUmmies, the only solution is to beat you, decisively, and turn the very machinations you have created against you.

If NASA was run like the UAW, you'd never see another satellite go up again.

But it would still cost more than it does now.

The weeping neck beard DUche should rethink that. NASA's budget is about $1.6 billion out of the $3,300 billion federal budget. Now NASA was one of the success stories unlike all the social programs that have done nothing but exacerbate the problem they were intended to help.

This thread title gives infinitely too much credit to the weeping neckbeard.

Dawes simply did a brainless kpete copy-and-paste, hit "Post", and was never heard from again.

Like kpete, Steve lacks the intellectual capacity to hang around and discuss his own thread.

I think he may have just been attracted to that NASA guy's sloppy facial hair.

Funny, the weeping neckbeard poseur (I don't give a shit WHO you were "honoring", Steve--you didn't earn that CIB, take it the **** off) forgets that while spending bills originate in the House, they have to get through the SENATE before they go to the President, and which party controls the Senate, and which Senator has declared any and all budget bills as DOA?

I was surprised to see a post from Steve Dawes. I figured he was in mourning for for General Vo Nguyen Giap.

But, Steve stepped in it again. He really is his own worst enemy.

The First Ward is chock full of good men and women who don't approve of his Stalinist ways. He may be igniting a firestorm, like the last time he ran for city council.

You just can't argue with something that stupid.  It has to be euthanized.

Since the Marxists took over, it seems like they're all outsourced anyway.  Hard to find the time amongst all that Muslim outreach.

It has been.....but they're just to stupid to realize they need to lay down for the procedure to be complete.

So an overpaid shit stirring idiot  thinks that post is shaming the Right? How about you  Steve take a look in the widescreen mirrior you have at home and ask yourself why the people of Omaha and possibly Bellevue owe you anything for what you have done? Compared to the NASA guy your greatest accomplishment is losing a local election and getting on welfare if it happens while he is probably designing systems for spacecraft that may find the answers to our greatest questions on the universe and returning twice as much in money spent at NASA as is put into it.  You can't say that about your job either as a shit mover or a file clerk at the OPD.

Yesterday, the House just passed 407 something to 0 to pay all the furloughed employees their back pay.

Sounds like this shut down is turning into a paid vacation for these people.  I wonder if Reid will sit on this too.
