They're soft and cute and they can make a great family pet. Yes, I'm talking about rabbits.

"They can bound really well with you," said Mikkel Becker, with VetStreet.com. "They like to snuggle and a lot of times they liked to be petted."

Becker told me it's possible to train a bunny to do tricks - seriously!

Endorsing dooming the human race.  :argh:

Rabbits and ptarmigans are both tasty. Rabbits and ptarmigans (if their wings are clipped) can both make decent caged household pets. The real danger to humans are the skwerls.

Skwerls are not cuddly or tasty. In flavor, they rank just above frog legs. They are as cuddly as NYC rats, which is why they're called "tree rats" by us more knowledgeable folks.

I'll produce some photographic evidence after it stops raining.

Rabbits can probably be litter box-trained.  Ptarmigans?  Not so much. :hammer:

What the pig-sty skwerls spend their time doing...

They sit up in the hickory tree and stuff themselves. The garbage and leftovers simply fall to the patio. But they don't dare come down in daylight anymore since Dink has picked off a couple of them.

Rabbits don't fare any better, and stay in the neighbor's yard. Ptarmigans, if we had any around here, wouldn't have any better luck. Dink is adept at chasing/catching just about anything.

Our most anal retentive neighbor was out shooting tree rats wth his air rifle. Probem is we're living in the 'burbs and he has a very small backyard that faces directly to our bedrooms. I definitely would not have been happy if he hit our windows. As far as the squirrels go, they're on their own, no sympathy from me.
