Won an Emmy and proposed to his S.O. the same night. I guess he can afford to be open about it now.

It kind of ruins the show for me.
Some of it anyway.
Call me old-fashioned.

Agreed.
If that didn't do it, watching the show with the laugh track removed will.

He came "out" several years ago, IIRC. Who cares...it is still an amusing show. Better than most of the dreck comedies on TV.

I tried to watch the show once. The level of stupidity nearly killed me.

There is a big difference between "coming out" and "shoving it in my face."
I think I am done. Now that Raj can talk to women, Wolowitz is married and PWd, and Sheldon and Amy have a relationship where she is the typical bitch-nag side, there isn't anything there for me anyway.
-
The guy who plays Sheldon is quite talented (imo) and does a great job making Sheldon the nerd king that he is. Having said that, I don't need nor do I care to know about his sexual life off stage. I wish the gay mafia would quit pushing this stuff in my face almost demanding my acceptance of their lifestyle. So you're gay. BFD. Move on and do your job.

He's never been obnoxious about it. I still enjoy the character he portrays and the show.

We love this show in our house, and always wondered if they were all gay.
I remember when it was publicized that Jim Parsons was gay. Some magazine did it, with a picture, I saw it online. I don't think he kept it a secret, but just something he didn't ever talk about. I have seen him interviewed several times since, and he still doesn't really talk about his friend. I think they have been together several years, and have planned to "marry" whenever it became legal.
Unlike many others, he's never been one to shove it in the public's face.
I don't care if someone is gay. I don't even really care if they have civil unions or whatever they want to call it.
I just get sick and tired of some of them having the attitude that they are "entitled" to have this, that, and every other thing... all the while constantly shoving their "gayness" into everyone's face! The sad thing is I don't think they represent the majority of gay people who just go about their daily lives and existance just like heteros do theirs. However, the actions of a few bleed over to reflect on the many.
But, IF they want all the benefits of being married, then they better be accepting the bad. Divorce, alimony, child support. You want fair and equal? Fine, you get fair and equal on EVERYTHING!!

Love this show. Working at Space Command probably helped, but it is genius.
As for an actor being gay so what. I enjoy the character he creates. I haven't heard anything about the actor or his political leanings, as he seems to be a quiet guy.
Judge not...

H5, and agree, who the heck cares what is going on in others bedrooms.
I seldom watch TV get the news from my PC, so I have never seen this show. What do I care, Frankie Avalon has what 10-11 children I have heard, so what, he is an entertainer and like this guy his private business is his own.
What's this with all of Hollywood going Gay. Is there no everyday actor or actress that works in that field ?

OMG--an actor is teh ghey? Stop the presses!
And yeah, I like it as well, if for no other reason than the nerd factor. I admit it. I am, "The World's Most Interesting Geek."

Christmas? I REALLY don't want to know what's going to be in the stockings........

Jim Parsons makes $200,000 a week. Heck, I'd think twice before turning down his proposal. O-)
