Lady Freedom Returns (6,069 posts)

Still waiting to hear from The Roadrunner Hostel & Inn.
I do hope it is soon. I am trying to find other jobs like it. Such a job would be a great step. I would have current work on my resume, something local to boot.

Setting at the Library again, waiting for it to open. Need to charge everything before I go into the shelter tonight. They have strict policy on that. They keep a double close eye on me due to the fact they know I have a Laptop. But it seems that due to them watching me so close the others are getting away with breaking the rule. The others in there tell me thanks a lot.

As i noted in another post my last night in the Shelter is this Monday. Trying to find a new bed somewhere else, but with the nights getting colder...

Only problem is that the shelter I am in right now does not give blankets to you in there, just a sheet. I am from the Mid-West so the chill right now is just a small bother. But for some of the natives here, they are freezing. And some of the people in there apparently need fans in the shared rooms and that drops the temp. I don't understand nor will I even try. I have to much to stay on top of.

As I said up top, I want to find some more jobs like The Roadrunner Hostel & Inn, but not sure where to look. Any ideas?

Okay now, I am going to ask what might seem a really stupid question.

But really, I don't know, because I don't use any of these portable electronic gadgets 99.9999% of everybody else seems to use.

I'm getting the impression one has to spend about as much time electrically recharging these things, as one spends actually using them?  Right or wrong?

You are correct, Frank.

I use my phone to listen to the radio, surf the net (including the Cave thanks to the Tapatalk app), read e-mail...all day long.  And my battery wears down throughout the day, so I try to keep it plugged in, either in my car or at home.

Depends on the computer's battery power.  But you can charge it at the same time your using it.

Thanks, people; being deaf I look at cellular telephones, even if just innocently stuffed into one's pocket, with burning hostility and resentment, hoping they explode or something.

And laptop computers are too flimsy for me; I need to use something with weight and bulk.

And then there's those stupid music things that people listen to, rather than paying attention to the person standing right in front of them.....I'm always hoping to see someone electrocuted by one.

If that much time's spent on electrically recharging them, can't one just use more powerful batteries, like Evereadys or something?

Okay, rant over.  Carry on.

They're not really that bad.  For example, I use a music player when I exercise, and I can get about 16 hours of play time out of it, with a four hour charge.  My phone lasts me about two days before I have to plug it in for a charge, and I do so at night when I go to bed, so it's never a big deal.

Almost all of my devices have proprietary batteries that you cannot just replace at the nearest convenient store.  For a few bucks, you can buy them online, though, and solder them in yourself if they go bad.

There are external electrical storage devices (big batteries) that can be purchased for extended use when there is no electricity for awhile.

But the run in the $100+ range and obama isn't giving them away free yet so the primitive probably has to fall back on stealing public power from the libary (Rio Lindo spelling).

Lol....

It would cost a fortune to use evereadys.  My laptop is pretty heavy, and it has a large rechargeable battery. They do lose their ability to hold a charge over time and have to be replaced.

I find it simply incredible--mouth-gaping incredible--that someone living the life of a "wino" or "hobo" seems to spend more time recharging batteries than in looking for a warm place to sleep or something to eat.

OK Frank, ever wonder what happens to society if the Grid goes down ?   What do we do if we cannot communicate with others by radio, TV, computer or cell phone or land line???

So much is controlled by electricity, try driving in NYC when the street signals don't work, total black outs every where.     Hospitals shut down, fire and police shut down  a nightmare for us who were raised to depend on electricity.

Ever read Stephens Kings works --IT.    One can not depend on battery's as it takes electricity to make them.

Amber, be sure to note this in your TripAdvisor review.  We wouldn't want any vagrants arriving in Tucson on a holiday excursion to make the mistake of staying there, versus another shelter where real blankets are offered.

At Crystal's, I think she said she had to pay her 66% of her paycheck.  The $2 for showers and laundry were extra.

But we don't know that for sure; we have to sift through what seems credible, and what doesn't.

We do know her loving caring sisters paid for the bus ticket from Tucson to Joplin, which was probably circa $200, and that she had to pay them back.

It could be that in paying them back, she was giving them 66% of her paycheck, not that they just took two-thirds of it.  If nothing else, the convenience store primitive appears very scrupulous about paying back [personal] loans.

<<<as far as am concerned, her loving caring sisters should've taken 100% of her paycheck, and doled it out as needed, as the convenience store primitive obviously isn't money-smart.

I am really surprised that she has not visited the hospital.  The poor "ex-SO" is so alone.  This scenario has so much potential - confrontation with the "less tanned" (?) look alike, fight with hospital staff, sex with the ex.

That's very true.

I offered the big guy in Bellevue excellent advice when he started running the first time around--it was probably exactly, precisely, the same advice professional Democrats there were giving him--but the big blob didn't pay a damned bit of attention.

I dunno why primitives lurk here, if they're not going to heed our advice and counsel.

At any rate, in this, his second run for office, the big guy in Bellevue's not getting the least bit of advice from me; he can go pound sand.

No, that was just another Arizona DUmmy trolling for crazy tail. She had to go to his place to get it.

And in the shelters where Amber flops, a sleeping bag would be like an incubator for body lice and bedbugs.

It is PayPal that is the problem. They will not release the money at all if I can not give them those two things and $20 buck have went back to the people.

I am glad on that part. I would feel horrified if PayPal kept it instead of giving it back.

Only way that money was returned to sender is if they requested it. Someone or most likely more than one since it would take any six DUmmies to raise 20.00, realized that they were being scammed.
