So I had a meeting with a person at the shelter I am staying at and she says I am to blame for a bed bug outbreak over a year ago. They say they striped my bed and it was covered in bed bugs.

So let me get this strait, I went from there to my HUD VASH apartment and we had no bed bugs, but I was covered in them and made them spend thousands of dollars in getting rid of them.

She warned me that I must make my bed better. I have only 1 sheet. it is a Full sized sheet I am trying to fit on a cot sized bed.

I am doing my best to get things done to help. But I can not use cell phones in the shelter so I leave the shelters number for messages. I apparently am not getting them since I call one org. and they said they left a message.

When my 7 days are up, I am not coming back to these people for help again.

Oh, new kicker, I got a call to meet with my ex and a VA Rep tomorrow, this is to clear out the paper work so I can file for HUD separately. I was upset about this call. It happen before this meeting with the shelter person. She thought my upset was due to drinking and demanded a breathalyzer. That made me feel GREAT

Pure arrogance.

If she had an ounce of character, and she was really so offended, she would leave immediately.  It is good to know that the shelters apparently keep records, and that they require the slobs to make their bug ridden beds every day.

They prolly made a mistake. They weren't bed bugs, most likely crabs! What an enjoyable scag to associate with.

Stupid scrunt.  Turn your cell phone off while in the shelter and let calls go to your voicemail.  Once again you are relying on others to take care of you.

Question.

Why would she be meeting with a ticket agent behind the counter at the Greyhound bus terminal?

Perhaps to send her to decontamination? Just a guess! Only rode a Greyhound once in my life. Wasn't exactly impressed with the service, employees, or the clientele. Pretty low rent. If I can't take the train or drive, I really don't need the trip. Never go far enough to fly.

Now, wait a minute there; don't go slandering Greyhound.

I rode a Greyhound bus one time, when I was a sophomore in college, from northern North Dakota down to Omaha; it stopped at exotic places such as Sioux Falls and Sioux City, and took a whole day.

Other than that the cuisine in the depots was overpriced, I had a good time, and the bus was immaculately clean despite the nature of most of the riders on it.

Someone should alert Crystal Naydean to check the mattress Amber used at the trailer.

Crystal Naydean would be pretty upset if Amber brought her flophouse bedbugs back to Joplin.

She called it the HUD VASH apartment.  Apparently they have a housing program for homeless vets.  In an older thread she mentioned that he was in a VA hospital and she slept outside behind the building, during monsoons.

Your right about her knowing about all the government freebies etc.  You would think with a college education and her first hand knowledge of all of it, that she could get a government job working for them.

Bingo.  Often you can even specify which times are best for you to receive phone calls, so choose a time each day, go to the library to put in job application, and step out if you receive a phone call.  If they call at another time, you could easily check your voicemail and call them back.

Sounds good to me if one shaves the bottom of body hair parts one is free of free of pubic lice.

Have we not known this for thousands of years we go into the past and see the ancients that kept their heads and body's shave.

Any of the woman here that bore children must remember that the area around the birth channel  was shaved before the birth to keep the baby free of whatever was leaking in the pubic hair.

Yes the first few months after having a baby, was a problem, the hair growing back itched an
was uncomfortable.  But, those that kept shaving the area soon found a body part that that was not  any more problem then their elbow.

They stopped doing that years ago, found too many infections that could be contributed to shaving. It was done for the doctors convenience if he had to do/sew up an episiotomy, not for anything 'leaking'.

Old expression, set the bush on fire and stab the critters with an ice pick when they come running out.

Actually I have seen people that slept on a bed bug infested bed and the rash from the bites is something to be concerned about. Check out the sites with customer reviews of Hotels or Motels, some really scary stories out there .

Had a big department store close down in NYC because people trying on clothing were bringing home bed bugs that had infested the store.

Buy a new mattress   and when delivered they cart off the old one, in same van as the new ones that may cross contaminate the new ones.  Make sure that mattress you buy is factory shipped in shrink wrap other wise  you may end up with bed bugs in a new mattress.

Crabs and head lice are huge problems in the world.   Way back both Egyptians and surprisingly people in Central America shaved their whole body's and wore wigs.

I cannot buy Amber's story about bed bugs, or being accused of bringing them in to a shelter. These suckers do not have anyone's name on them.   Can and do come from any number of sources, same as head or crotch lice.

Anytime you see a roach for example outside your home before you go inside strip off all your clothing down to the naked as a Jay bird ---Screw the neighbors, before going inside.   Watch those paper bags we put food into at the supermarket store them outside.

Bug A Phoebe here, not in MY home.

Oh and April, the only one of my children that came too fast for me to be shaved contacted Staff  infection, damn near lost her.  I instructed both my daughters to shave a few days before their due date, and wish I had done the same to my EX's before they came home from overseas.   Not that I did not trust them, just the visits to the Clinic after they had been home a couple weeks was getting OLD.

And the extended hospital stays back then had nothing to do with that right? Studies have proven that extended hospital stays with newborns contributed to infections like that. Immature immune systems have a problem fighting off bugs in dirty environments like hospitals. Shaving has nothing to do with it, if anything shaving can contribute to maternal infections.
BTW enemas prior to delivery went out years ago as well.

When my 7 days are up, I am not coming back to these people for help again.

What? Are you in jail dummie? Why don't you leave right freaking now if you don't like it?

<shakes head>

Here is the way I look at it dummie. You don't like the way you are treated, OK I can understand that, been there many times, but the difference between you and me is I WAS PAYING FOR IT. You? You are taking someone's else's money and effort and you are such an ungrateful bitch that you complain about it?!?!??! If I didn't have a roof over my head I would be happy to have one.

Go back to your ditch, bitch, and you had better be grateful you got that ditch. I bet when it gets cold you will be more than happy to be in that ungrateful place that you graced your presence with.

Ah so true, with my own first born I received a half dozen belly bands,   A few of those horrid plastic pants to go over cloth diapers and not one pacifier. Last baby I delivered was about 26 or so years ago and it was my own grandson on a gurney in a hospital hall way.

Things go back and forth in style, we were told to lay infant on stomach for sleep and my kids now told to lay theirs on their back.

For me entering a hospital is like a trip to the future.   I am fascinated with all the stuff technology has brought in, only thing I recognise is a stethoscope.  I have not seen a mercury  thermometer in YEARS, red end was for the bottom and green for the mouth.

The new awareness of germ prevention is an eye opener, Yet Nurses and doctors still wear rings and bracelets, a no-no when I was trained up.    AND  Boston General comes in at night and gives back rubs to those staying more then a couple days.   This Riki stuff was unheard of back in my time, as was acupuncture.  There may have been Hospitals that had this treatment but I never worked for one that did.

I feel like Rip Van Winkle when I visit someone in the hospital.

I don't know what hospital you go to Vesta, but they don't even allow earrings in our hospitals. At least not in any of 3 I've had the unfortunate opportunity to reside in.

Same goes for any business that manufactures food stuffs.
