House Republicans passed their stopgap funding bill Friday to keep government open while terminating the new health care law, setting up a final showdown next week with Senate Democrats and President Obama who have firmly rejected that.

It won't pass the Senate. Reid will probably put Obamacare funding back in it, the Dems will pass it and then they'll throw it back to the House.
Then what?
I think the republican's need to push this to the max. It's their future.I agree 100%

I agree 100%
But I'm also counting down the hours until Boehner caves. He is a man who has no guts.
The only reason it has gotten this far is a revolt among the GOP conservatives.
If it should be brought to a vote in the senate (which I doubt) some dems will probably vote for it there too because of the 2014 elections.
Who was the Republican who voted against it?
I can do without my SS check a hell of a lot longer than Obama voters can do without their foodstamps, section 8, disability checks, welfare, Obamaphones, Medicaid, Medicare, student loans................................................
Well I for one am glad for the two dems votes, but I suffer no illusions it was more out of saving their skins than they think its the right thing to do for the country.
I doubt it will get that far for a government shut down, but, Obama is vindictive as hell, so who knows. If it would help him politically, he would want it to be as painful as possible for the people, just to punish Republicans. He doesn't give a crap about the country....what he did with the sequestration has proven that.
I believe Rush Limbaugh played a montage the other day of Dems claiming that Obamacare is "the law of the land". Along with reciting former laws that were in place...slavery, etc.
Hey DUmmies, laws can always be repealed.
HEHE you have more faith then I do for the weasel my friend...Ill bet he was on the bathroom floor with the shakes minutes after the vote.

Either that or Obama will give him a call and he will pee in his pants and tears will be flowing from his eyes. What a sorry ass excuse for a man.
Most of the people that I know that don't vote are ultra conservative. If the republicans would take a firm stand just once on a matter of great importance, things might change for the better.
If the Repubs put up another ass kissing RINO like Christie for President in 016, the same thing will happen.

Wasn't "Seperate but equal" the "law of the land" at one time...upheld by the Supreme Court as well?So was Dredd Scott v. Sanford, ruled under another Democrat president.
:whistling:
Do a Harry Reid style dunk shot......right into file 13.....that's the same place Reid files things he doesn't like.

Military pay will be held until a CR is passed, according to Defense Finance and Accounting Service: DFAS Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/DefenseFinanceandAccountingService/posts/580349708668866)
It's facebook. I take that into account.
For furloughed employees, Congress will have to provide authority for retroactive payments to be made.No retroactive pay for time off.....it should hurt.
No retroactive pay for time off.....it should hurt.
Yeah that's great but congress will not be the ones taking that up the buns nor will the O clan go without their Christmas vacation. Not likely. It will be the gs 5-11taking it in the shorts; many of those vets now working as civilians especially in the halls of DOD jobs. At least with this one compared to the day a week thing, at least they can actually apply for unemployment while the circus runs it's course in DC. As you said though many are prepared and can wait out either way knowing the financial repercussions a year and two or three from now are far greater then a paycheck.

What the Obama administration is portraying as a "shutdown" of the federal government -- complete with signs posted at the entrances to government buildings, parks and monuments -- is turning out to be more of a "slimdown," as all but non-essential workers reported to their jobs Tuesday.
The biggest impact is expected to be felt for the 800,000 or so federal workers facing furlough. But hundreds of thousands of other workers are reporting for work, and a patchwork of services remains open to the public as lawmakers and the White House continue to battle over a spending package.
Mail will still be delivered, Social Security checks will go out and, thanks to a last-minute bill, the military will continue to get paid.
Congressional stalemate rings in government slimdown

Government shutdown is a misnomer. It is government slimdown, which the government should do.

The Obama administration’s partial shutdown has apparently extended to online activities, including the White House Instagram account.
As of October 1st, the account displays a message conveying updates to the account will be “limited†due to the federal shutdown:

Right now Harry Reid is stuck on an elevator at the Capitol because the elevator operators were furloughed and he doesn't know how to operate the darn thing.
PANIC!! :panic:

What a bunch of petty, unimportant little shits.
I hope the sorry POS has a claustrophobic attackI hope he falls down the ******* elevator shaft, but that's just my opinion.
The gummint knew this was going to go into effect on Oct. 1. Why wasn't Healthcare.gov ready 30 days prior to allow for early signups?
... never mind.
This is what needs to happen to congress....

And he'll tell them it's "My way or nothing". Then he'll give another speech saying that the republicans won't budge. Those meetings should be on C-Span.
I just pray that the House Repubs continue to hold the line. If they do, I think Boehner will have done a hell of a job here.

Old Boenhead was not doing anything for this country he is a coward and a crybaby....he is in the prezzy pocket and the only reason he is doing ANYTHING that is on the correct side of the sanity is someone told him if he didn't he would be replaced soon...he needs to go soon.
