Why is there a crusade against Apple products but not foreign cars? [View all]

Last edited Wed Sep 18, 2013, 10:59 PM USA/ET

Want to help American workers and our balance of trade? Buy a UAW car. Automobiles sure cost a lot more and provide more jobs than phones. Hardly any phones are made in the USA but we have a huge trade imbalance because of foreign cars. The subcompact Chevy Sonic is made in Michigan and all it's competitors like the Yaris, Fit, Accent, Rio, Mazda2 are made in Asia but damn those phones!

11. You can buy a UAW car just as easy as a Camry BUT DON"T EVER BITCH ABOUT APPLE

What's the difference between between Toyota doing the expensive engineering in Japan and using cheap Kentucky labor vs Apple having the high paying jobs in California and using cheap Chinese labor?

It's hypocrisy and/or ignorance to support Toyota but diss Apple

61. I'm for as much American content as is reasonably possible, you're apologist for JapanInc globalism

I would rather Apple gets business than Samsung. Motorola X should be supported.

I would rather see union American companies get production rather than non union foreign based companies and especially 100% foreign cars like Prius, Mazda and Honda Fit.

I know all this goes over your head. You just want to defend JapanInc.

There is no American designed very small car so the Sonic is the best choice as it's UAW made by an American company.

Mediocre cars like Camry abd Maxima can easily be replaced by Consumer Reports highly rated Chevy Impala.

American fullsize trucks easily are better than Toyota Tundra, Honda Ridgeline and Nissan Titan, You have to hate America to buy one of these Japanese trucks

8. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE $12 BILLION WORTH OF CARS 100% MADE IN JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA?

$12 Billion/Month Auto Trade Deficit Ignored By Media

In truth Steve Jobs didn't invent the computer, any iFraud product, nor the gullible consumer. But he darn sure knew how to push their elitist  buttons. :rotf:

A quick read on the OP leads me to believe it very well could be a reconstituted Drain.

The DUmmie's abrasiveness and vehicular interest strikes a uniquely familiar chord, no? Coldmountain is DB scaled back to half throttle so as not to draw suspicion upon his sock. It won't work, of course, because vile hatred of such magnitude can only be restrained temporarily. Of course, the DUmp has already moved on from ol' Dain. He's as forgotten as the AR-15 totin' Obamason.

DUmmie coldmountain is not DainBramaged incognito. A search of coldmountain's posts, pre-remote, shows:  that coldmountain had lived in the South for 30 years; that coldmountain's father hailed from Pennsylvania and was in high school in 1950; etc. None of that fits 62-year-old (lifelong?) New Jerseyite Doug Bulna.

Coldmountain repeatedly plugs GM cars as better than foreign makes in the thread. Not only just GM's rather than mentioning a Ford or Chrysler, but specifically Chevys(Dain, as we know, loves him some Chevy. He drives one and works(ed) at a Chevy dealer. He's an unabashed Chevy fanboy.)

31. It's a race to the bottom, and quality will suffer as will Gm and the UAW leadership
GM and UAW leadership want to **** with the members, in the end, they lose. It will be 1974 all over again. Nothing but Vega quality from GM until they become dust.

I remember a buddy working for GM back then, they could bring a Vega in for an oil change and hone the cylinders without the customer being none the wiser.

I have no concrete evidence and this could all be circumstantial. I'm not able to look up IP's so draw your own conclusion.

Chevrolet's cars are nearly all Korean designs (Daewoo).  The UAW just cobbles them together.

You make a good argument, shoes. The mention of GMs and Chevy. The use of a distinctive phrase--"race to the bottom"--used by both DainBramaged and coldmountain. Show even more examples of commonality in writing in their respective posts, and that will bolster your case.

However, the biographical data of coldmountain, pre-remote (when there would have been no motive to falsify such data)--how does that fit DB? Did DB ever live in the South for 30 years?

I don't have enough info to even make a guess whether shoes is right or not, but if CM was a DB sock puppet, wouldn't even Doug Bulna be smart enough to give fake biographic data? Even if it's only to cut down on the frequency of being asked by DUmmies: "Oh, you're from Denville NJ too?  Do you know the DUmbass Doug Bulna?"

You're aware that the most affordable lines of Ford's product line are manufactured in MEXICO, right?  GM's in Canada for the most part.

Toyota and Nissan equipment sold in the US, on the other hand, are made mostly in Tennessee and the surrounding area these days.

Are the UAW pansies as forbidden from Toyota plants in Califunny as they are at other plants in the country?  I know GM has/had a strong manufacturing presence in Cali when I was a kid and if anything, the California UAW was even quicker on the "strike" trigger than their Michigander brethren.

Only because they restructured just before the bottom fell out or else they would have had their hand out as well.

He could allege to have lived in the south.

Remember the First Rule: DUmmies lie; all the time, DUmmies lie.

On another point, it seems many primitives  :-) have a second persona handy for a very long time before they ever use it, and so the fact that this one's been around a while doesn't mean much.  It's sort of like insurance.

Henry himself told FDR to get ****ed back in the 30's.  Good to see Ford still recognizes a commie when they see one.

Sure, I know. The difference is, they didn't take the "One's" money! You can't buy a damn thing anymore that is made in America. All you can do is support those who still try and hold onto our morality.

Though no guarantee, the phrase "Japan Inc" is also a DB classic. - so, it could be this sock was either built sometime ago, or it was gifted to DB.

If you're gonna run a successful sockpuppet or keep a second screen name handy in the event you get a granite pizza...you'd want to make that "person" look as opposite from you as possible.

You're from NJ....your sock lives in the Deep South.  etc. etc.

Where this one seems to have screwed up as do most of them eventually...is they have certain "crutch" phrases in their writing.  Things that make you go "wait a minute...this sounds familiar".  And then they are outed.

I think the only way to know for sure is to find a way to check ISP addresses.  But IMO it's about a 70-30 that this is Dain.

Maybe BadCat can run his DUmpster Diver program and tell if the two are the same.

For anyone thinking that union made cars are the way to go, one only has to look at how well British Leyland turned out.

You piqued my interest so I checked the labels on the door frame which tells you where it was manufactured and I also checked the owners manual.

I did not see a single UAW logo anywhere and they usually are on most of the printed material, so I have to assume no UAW involvement in the manufacture of my truck in California.  :-)
