A black man in DC a member of the NRA? What are the odds. :whatever:I bet he voted for Holmes-Norton.

Looks like someone took Sarah Silverman's suggestion of a "Black NRA" seriously.
Shooter's name is Aaron Alexis, thirties from Ft. Worth TX. May have been a contractor doing work for Navy.
On Saturday 09-04-10 at approximately 1849 hrs I, Officer M Medders 3835 working W237, was dispatched to an apt complex, Orion at Oak Hill Apts, at 2450 Oak Hill Rd in reference to a shots fired call. The details of the call stated "CP STS SHE HEARD A 'POP' & SAW SMOKE & DUST; NOW SEES THAT THERE IS A HOLE IN HER FLOOR & ANOTHER IN HER CEILING; BELIEVES SOMEONE JUST SHOT INTO HER APT; DID NOT SEE ANYTHING OR ANYONE; CP HAS MOVED AWAY FROM AREA WHERE HOLES ARE; CONTACT CP". Upon arrival I met with the witness who was inside her apt and visibly shaken up.
Alexis lived in Seattle and in Fort Worth, Texas, according to public records. He appears to have served in the Navy, but it is unclear whether he was still on active duty.
Police are investigating whether the identification of former Navy petty officer Rollie Chance was used by Alexis to enter the Navy Yard compound. Federal investigators visited Chance’s home Monday.
A relative of Rollie Chance said in a telephone interview that Chance, from Stafford, Va., was not at the Navy Yard and was neither a witness nor a suspect and asked the media to leave the family alone.
2:21pm - Holmes-Norton says "all the loose guns in DC" mean that you don't need a terrorist to commit an act like the Navy Yard shooting.
2:19pm - Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) says we haven't seen a day like this since 9-11. Reports that their will be a moment of silence in Congress for the victims.
Holmes-Norton is an oxygen thief of the highest order.
Authorities said they believe that Alexis then picked up two other weapons — a handgun and an AR-15-style assault weapon — during the shooting spree, taking the sidearm from a police officer he shot and another from a gunsafe or other secure location.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Aaron Alexis, the 34-year-old suspect in Monday's shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard, had "secret" clearance and was assigned to start working there as a civilian contractor with a military-issued ID card, his firm's chief executive told Reuters.
Would someone explain why the killer and other employees like him aren't put through tighter screenings when entering the complex? Just show his badge and stroll in without passing through a metal detector or having his bags searched?
Because, for all intents and purposes, DoD as a whole puts rent-a-cops on gate duty. In reality though, this guy probably badged through an electronically-controlled turnstyle and never disturbed the somnolence of the guard at that gate.

I would think any military related installation would be heavily secured period. People would have to go through multiple security levels.
I would think getting a security clearance would be very difficult and anyone with an arrest would not get it, like Aaron Alexis. I know he does not have a criminal record despite being arrest a couple of times.

Have yourself another think, Ptarmy. :cheersmate:
When I worked for the Naval Shipyard, so long as I had my badge out and displayed properly, and I looked like I knew where I was and what I was doing, I could get just about anywhere on base. Heck, even earlier than that, when I was but a wee pizza delivery lad, I was only one gate away from the actual ballistic missile subs at the Bangor Submarine Base most of the time. Were I of nefarious character :whistling: I could have taken advantage of the security situation in any number of ways, and I would have been far too deep inside the perimeter to have been stopped in any kind of timely manner.
This is not to say that the security folks aren't on top of things: while I was at the shipyard, they disappeared at least one scuba diver a month into the bowels of NID for being caught inside the security perimeter (usually with a camera, and usually just after a major combatant had come in for a refit) as one example where they were on top of things. All I'm saying is that most CONUS military bases are far to big an area for the security force regularly and normally employed on those bases to do anything but respond after the fact.
FRIEND: Navy Yard Shooter Liberal, Supported Obama

Tuesday, on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," Michael Ritrovato spoke at length about his friend, suspected Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis. After expressing his condolences to the victims and their families, Ritrovato then expressed his shock over the actions of a man he described as being "like a brother to me" and a "good-natured guy."
Ritrovato went on to explain that two of them had a close relationship based in part on their differences, specifically race and politics. Alexis was black, Ritrovato is white. Ritrovato described himself as conservative and Alexis is "more of a liberal type" who supported Barack Obama:
QuoteI would say things like, 'You know, you are my brother from another mother.' And he would say things like, 'You're my Italian mafia guy from New York.' So we had things we joked about: Aaron wasn't conservative like I am. He was more of a liberal type; he wasn't happy with the former [Bush] administration. He was more happy with this [the Obama] administration -- as far as presidential administrations.
Ain't this interesting!

FORT WORTH, Texas — Aaron Alexis was so unhappy with his life in America — where he was beset by money woes and felt slighted as a veteran — that he was "ready to move out of the country" last year, a friend said Tuesday.
"He was tired of dealing with the government," said Kristi Suthamtewkal, whose husband owns the Thai Bowl Restaurant in Fort Worth, where Alexis worked in exchange for room and board.
But instead of leaving the U.S., the former Navy reservist relocated from Texas to Virginia, where an IT company called The Experts put him on a government contract at the Washington Navy Yard.

Police warned Navy about gunman's mental instability 6 weeks ago, report says (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/09/17/navy-yard-shooter-heard-voices-through-walls-thought-people-sending-vibrations)
They ignored it because he was black and to not ignore the warning would have been racist.Isn't that what the Army did with Hassan?

There are reports that the shooter was unhappy with America. Perhaps if the dumb ass hadn't supported obama his view of America would have been a little brighter. :ownit:Up until rodeowebuma's election the wookieyeti was unhappy with America. Even after I'm not so sure.
Report: Heavily Armed Tactical Team Ordered to Stand Down During Navy Yard Shooting (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/09/18/report-heavily-armed-tactical-team-ordered-to-stand-down-during-navy-yard-shooting/)

Multiple sources are telling the BBC that a tactical response team ready to respond to Monday’s deadly shooting in Washington, D.C. was ordered to stand down by superiors. The heavily armed team was reportedly one of the first available to aid municipal officers on the scene.
The gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis, went on to kill 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard.
The Capitol Police Department is reportedly pulling radio logs from Monday morning to investigate exactly what happened.

I had read another story about marine guards stationed there that had weapons, but no ammo. True or not, I don't know. This administration is so corrupt that anything is possible.if true, that is appalling. Even Barney Fife got to carry one bullet on him.
I have been away fishing and don't do the news when I do that. So it looks like another mental case libtard that had a neon warning sign on his head went on a shooting spree in yet another gun free zone! Its becoming apparent that's the MO of these shootings. So we better cut mental health careandSO WE CAN ban more guns. Yeah, that's the ticket!! :banghead: :-)
EXCLUSIVE: An Alabama family recounted to FoxNews.com a chilling airport encounter they had last month with the man they believe went on to gun down 12 people at a Washington military facility, and said the confrontation was triggered by the hearty laugh of a 75-year-old matriarch.
“We were just laughing and talking and he came over and said we were laughing at him,†Rosalind Baugh told FoxNews.com, speaking of Aaron Alexis, the troubled former Navy Reservist and government contractor who went on a shooting spree in the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington Monday.
Since the shooting, in which Alexis was killed by police, several reports have surfaced about his anti-social behavior, mental problems and record of arrests for gun offenses. As soon as he was identified as the shooter, Baugh and other family members present at Norfolk Airport for the Aug. 4 incident have been reliving the frightening encounter daily.
Ptarmy, he sounds like a typical OWS-type, actually. I posted a story similar to D6's in the Shoutbox, chiefly because I didn't look here. :o
NEW YORK (AP) — About 100 members of Occupy Wall Street returned Tuesday to the small plaza near the New York Stock Exchange that once teemed with thousands of people protesting financial inequality, marking the second anniversary of their movement's beginnings.
Sources say Aaron Alexis left behind two short phrases on the side of the shotgun used in the Washington Navy Yard massacre.
One of the messages scratched into the gun's metal reads, "Better off this way." The other is more cryptic: "My ELF weapon."

And they still have no idea why he did this....I wonder if those 12 families will ever get answers?
Probably never. I do suspect he targeted the DC Naval Yard because he was in the Navy and was discharged because of his arrests. I think he was retaliation for his discharge.Typical libtard mentality. clearly he took no personal responsibility for his actions that lead to his discharge.
He is an Obama supporter. The Occupy Wall Street came back for their anniversary.

Absent an AK 47 or AR 15 we are now beginning to see Tactical Shotgun. Is there no end to the limits journalists will go to in sensationalizing a story. Obliviously not. :whistling:sort of like how the phrase white hispanic poped up after St. trayvon was shot for being a ghetto thug.
Typical libtard mentality. clearly he took no personal responsibility for his actions that lead to his discharge.
He should of not committed any crimes while in the Navy. I wonder how he managed to join the Navy when he had PTSD already.
"My ELF weapon."

ELF? Earth Liberation Front?
That's what I thought, but then the fact that he plays video games made me think it might be otherwise. A lot of games have elf characters in them.
Here are the victims:

Aaron Alexis didn’t report gun arrest during background check, received clearance
Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/aaron-alexis-didnt-report-gun-charge-during-background-check-received-clearance/2013/09/23/ac472dae-248b-11e3-a626-0ae190346c4d_story.html?Post+generic=%3Ftid%3Dsm_twitter_washingtonpost)
A senior Navy official told reporters Monday that there is “no way to know objectively†whether the Navy would have approved Alexis’s security clearance had it known about his gun-related arrest. The official said he did not know whether lying on a security clearance application should have been automatic grounds for rejection. He spoke on the condition of anonymity under rules set by the Navy.
This is disturbing to me why is this dismiss able?
and why not it is a previous offence and should have denied him without question!
As I keep saying it's because of skin color. The militry is paralyized by the fear of an EO complaint if something even as obvious as this gets denied. Alexis was in the military he knows how tht game is played. Same thing with Nidal the Ft. Hood shooter. Look at how many of his superiors knew he was practically promoting Jihad when he was at Walter Reed...and they did nothing.
It's the nature of the EO system in the military...where just a person's "perception" how they feel someone says or does something where they are concerned can be filed as a bias complaint.
Yup.
The PC shit's been going on for a long, long time. EO Training came out as an aftermath of Vietnam because race relations sucked pretty bad at the time. I've witnessed racially-oriented fights in the chow line and other areas where boom boxes were the rage and not everybody on the planet enjoyed the type of "music" being blasted out of those things. :whatever:
During the obligatory race relations training, it was trumpeted over and over and over again that the person's "perception" of a comment or behavior was the deciding factor as to whether that comment or behavior was truly offensive.
It didn't take long for the race baiters to use that in a way to further their own agendas.
It's become an art form now. Just look at Al and Jesse.
