New Poll Finds Most Americans Open to Alternative 9/11 Theories
"New York, NY (PRWEB) September 09, 2013
On the 12th anniversary of 9/11, a new national survey by the polling firm YouGov reveals that one in two Americans have doubts about the governments account of 9/11, and after viewing video footage of World Trade Center Building 7s collapse, 46% suspect that it was caused by a controlled demolition. Building 7, a 47-story skyscraper, collapsed into its own footprint late in the afternoon on 9/11.
The poll was sponsored by ReThink911, a global public awareness campaign launched on September 1. The campaign includes a 54-foot billboard in Times Square and a variety of transit and outdoor advertising in 11 other cities, all posing the question, Did you know a third tower fell on 9/11?
Among the polls findings:
38% of Americans have some doubts about the official account of 9/11, 10% do not believe it at all, and 12% are unsure about it;
46%, nearly one in two, are not aware that a third tower collapsed on 9/11. Of those who are aware of Building 7s collapse, only 19% know the buildings name;
After seeing video footage of Building 7's collapse:
46% are sure or suspect it was caused by controlled demolition, compared to 28% who say fires caused it, and 27% who don't know"

What I find puzzling, dear DU, is that this place, which has many critical and independent thinkers, seems to have a majority view that alternative theories to the government explanation are somehow to be labeled conspiracy theory, and to be ridiculed and relegated to a dungeon. What I find particularly disturbing, is how the conspiracy theorist label has been very succesful in limiting debate. That is a mental prison of our own making, and I reject it. The end game memo, the LIBOR scandal, the Monsanto-government collusion, and on and on - the dots NEED to be connected. How can one in two americans be open to alternative theories, but DU is not? That doesn't make sense to me.
As a metallurgical engineer, I can only say, did you know a third building fell? The explanation for it (due to office furniture fire) makes zero sense, I'm sorry. Buildings do not fall through the path of greatest resistance at free-fall speed. Open your eyes. And watch this short clip or the one hour free docu
[video]
I really can't find fault with it. Note that it was also in the mainstream media over here two years ago, and now even my family is convinced the official story is baloney.
It's time we the people conspire against the 0.01%.

9/11 "alternative" theories and "conspiracies"
The various HOP levels are
--our government is behind 9-11, that is to say MIHOP=Made It Happen On Purpose.
--LIHOP= Let It Happen On Purpose.
--The third option is incompetent negligence due to having other priorities like the missile defense shield boondoggle, cutting taxes for the rich and planning the invasion of Iraq.

You should have been there in the "glory days" of DU. MIHOP and LIHOP were not only openly discussed, but you had to subscribe to one in order to be allowed to post at DU. Then after a few years $kimmer realized his site was getting a reputation for being insane so he decided to quarantine the madness.
What I find particularly disturbing, is how the conspiracy theorist label has been very succesful in limiting debate. That is a mental prison of our own making, and I reject it.
Enjoy your short stay. You must follow the rules or be banished from the island.
I wonder if that same 38% doubts the moon landing as well. Considering 0bama was reelected we have evidence that there is a large number of moonbats in this country, so it's not surprising that so many people buy into the moonbat theories of what happened on Sep 11th 2001. It also explains why 0bama walked away unscathed from what happened on Sep 11, 2012. It was proven that our government lied about the "video incident" incident in 2012 so maybe some of the low information people in the poll have the 2 incidents confused.

There are very few words I could use that women or children should here to describe these wastes of life. These thieves of oxygen. These out, and out insane scumbags.
I will just say that the names that Lunatica, and Dain Bramaged picked out for themselves are apt indeed. The rest of these jackholes should follow suit. Makes them easier to identify. More memorable.

Who?
There you go right there. I can think of no other conclusive proof that this poll is complete hogwash.
Normally, I wouldn't knee jerk to impugn the source right off the bat, but in this case its far too biased.
"ReThink 911" Seriously? And I'm supposed to just believe their "findings" that 46% of the country is "open to the idea of alternative stories"???
Hogwash.
-
Mmm-hmmm. They can't even get HALF of their own nutty troofers to give them the result they want. The whole country?! Psh-tosh.

I remember an interesting poll a while back on gun control around Blacksburg, VA. When they polled the university it was overwhelmingly anti-second amendment. When they asked the same question in the surrounding area it was exactly the opposite.

9/11 Truthers and Wacky Conspiracy Theorists (Sandy Hook, Holocaust Deniers, etc.) = :mental: :stoner: :loser:
-
If these DUmmies believe it was an inside job, they must also by default believe that the planning happened under Clinton. Because Bush is such an idiot, no way that he could plan and execute the 9/11 attack, the war in Afghanistan and the war for oil in Iraq, in just a few months.
I hate these traitors with a passion. They don't deserve to be citizens of the USA. They always choose to believe the worst of the country, not the best.

"Alternative theories" are exactly like "alternative medicine".
Pure quackery for the gullible.

Apply the concrete block to the head.

VA Tech isn't known for it's common sense, or any sense, for that matter.
The most stupid people I know, including my cousin, hold degrees from VT.
All of them make Joe Biden look like Einstein. (I'm not joking!)

It's part of the idiocy and hypocrisy of the far left, and it extends not just to how they feel about Bush, but also how they feel about conservatives in general.
btw, how do you guys suggest I respond to Troofers who bring up Tower 7? What do you think is the best way of shooting down that claim?
-
DUmmies would rather believe that President Bush was behind it than the Muslims. The same Muslims that would assraape every DUmmie before beheading them.
They neglect the simple fact that 911 could not have been planned out in the short time that President Bush was in office. If it was done by the US government, then Slick Willie had to have a hand in it, not President Bush.

Oh...I thought movie buff was asking how to deal with them. :???:

My understanding of the way the buildings collapsed was that they were open floor plans without center supports. The fire affected the support structures on the sides, and then when the floors started to fall (made of concrete) and sandwich one on top of the other, each adding more weight to the next one, the supports couldn't handle the falling weight and came down, similar to a demolition.

I noticed a large panel truck in my town that was previously used as a billboard for the Ron Paul campaign was wrapped with a bunch of "truther" shit and parked on one of our main highways. This is so disrespectful to America.
I'm thankful people have the freedom to express any opinion they wish, but it does not mean I don't wish to put my shoe up their ass.
The good news is they finally took the Ron Paul signs down around town and took the Ron Paul signs off the truck that was always seen around town at community events! :lmao: That is the Blessing!
