John Kerry is a Good Man [View all]

I disagree with the need for military intervention at this time.

I disagree with Mr. Kerry's argument. And Mr. Obama's.

I disagree with their argument.

But I think John Kerry believes in his case. I think John Kerry believes the facts he is laying out (I do, too), and believes that the course of action he is promoting is 1) in the best interests of the people of the United States, 2) moral and necessary, 3) in the best interests of the Syrian people, and the people in the region, and for people in general, especially if it averts proliferation. I disagree with him on those latter points, but I think he is making his case in good faith, and for good reasons.

I don't think John Kerry is a "filthy liar," or "despicable and disgusting," nor that he is "getting paid by the MIC," nor that he "was always an opportunist who just used the anti-war movement for his own purposes." I don't believe that John Kerry "has lost his soul."

I believe John Kerry is a good man who believes that he is doing the right thing. I happen to disagree with his assessment. That doesn't make him a "warmonger" or a "devil."

Of course, the chorus is coming: did you think the same of the Bushies when they made their case? If not, then YOU TOO are a giant, filthy, disgusting, despicable, soulless, opportunist, hypocrite! Yes, yes. The world is so easy. Actually, I think some of the Bushies did think they were doing the right thing. I disagreed with them, too. Other Bushies were clearly motivated by more sinister strategies. I thought they were assholes.

But John Kerry? I don't think he's an asshole. The vitriol directed his way is unfair. You're all better than that.

He's like a matinee idol to them, or something. They're in disbelief that Lord Zero could so disappoint them...it's ALMOST compensation for the last election. Almost. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=3590133)

Not everyone is buying it:

How are those neocon talking points?

Of all people ... John Kerry was part of a hearing on Viet Nam... Now, not only does he give up presidential election of 2004, but he has become the official water carrier for another imperialist perpetual war.... absolutely the worst hypocrisy imaginable.

Not only does Kerry lack credibility, but he had his wife Teresa Hines Kerry visible sitting behind him in today's Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. What an outrage!

For us to draw a red line on chemical weapons, what about our dropping 2 atom bombs on Japan, the use of agent orange and napalm in VN, and the our use of white phosphorus and depleted uranium weapons in Falagua, Iraq?

STOP the military industrial congressional complex, NOW!

That makes almost no sense to me, but it does appeal to my sense of humor.

And a few others. I am more fascinated by the DU Civil War than the Syrian one. Although I will allow that it would be better still if the DUmmies were using weapons.

Johnny boy lied about Viet Nam and he is lying today.  He's good at it that's why the DUmmies love him

I still do not understand their mania over white phosphorus and depleted uranium, except that it's just another reason to hate/cripple America and her soldiers.

Yeah there is that but they want him to re-up his membership in the "Hate Amerika First" club hence the civil war over at the DUmp.  The fact that he ran a gun boat in Viet Nam and killed a couple gooks well, that was all in adolescent good natured fun.  Old Rice in the Butt Kerry, who mounted the 8mm (oh wait that was the movie camera he carried) on a fast boat in 'Nam is quite the heart throb to the aging hippie wymens.  I believe you will find a picture him with his perfectly coiffured hair in the dictionary under narcissist; one can also be found under horse-face, loser, gigolo*, and asshole. :-)

* which should also feature an obligatory link to David Lee Roth song in the New Collegiate On-line Series :whatever:

To be fair, DUmmies, Kerry was for Iraq before he was against it.   :lmao:

That was a fun election.  Between Kerry's haughty goofs, John "pretty boy" Edwards' airs and Teresa Heinz' antics, they had me laughing all the time.  Great photo ops, that group.... :-)

The DU elite include: Cry Me A River Human Refuse Clinton and Hubby Bubba, the Human Humidor user, The Breck Girl, John Edwards, Windsurfer John F. Kerry, who served in Viet Nam and married the Pickle Queen Teresa, who often looks like she is wearing a panty hose mask, and Alphonso "Big Al the Goricle" Gore, boss of all bosses in the US faction of the Global Warming Crime Family.  His daddy voted against equal rights and he probably played dip the wick with his maid when a young.  And we wonder why the DUmmies are the way they are.  Their Hero's are Zero's.

Can someone show me where Falagua on a map? There's a group of hackers in the ME that call themselves "Falagua" but I wasn't aware they had their own town in Iraq.

I thought "falagua" was something you got at an Ethiopian restaurant.

No, wait. That's "diarrhea".

AM doesn't agree, but he'll support and defend any Dem decision just as his good pal The Magistrate (MIA AFAIK).
