Title: DUmmy UGP Checking In From New Boobyhatch

Well, DUmmy UGP's family has finally dragged her out of her mother's house and committed her:

Just wanted to let y'all know..

I have been on DU mostly lurking, because I have been busy bigtime. And I've been coping with a good amount of back pain too.I think it might be going out of remission with all the moving stuff and stress.

I found a place, its a supervised housing arrangement. I can't have my cats or my snake there. But my sister is taking in Bear and Sparkle until I get section 8.My counselor has a vet freind who loves reptiles who can take in my girl,Kali and will return her when I get section 8. I know a place out here that accepts section 8 and accepts pets. That's probably where I'll be after my time in residential. I'm gonna miss my furry and scaly ones alot. I love them so.My sister said she will take care of them both for me. She promised I could see my cats often. At minimum once a week.

I just hope I can deal with staff and roomates ok,and that they can deal with me ok.I hope I can handle being without my constant other species companions.
Staff seems cool and the treatment team will be working closely with my therapist and counselor at my day program.
Most of my stuff I need is packed up and already in the room. I just got a few odds and ends to get as I move in, tomorrow.
 Wish me luck.

Now this is the one Lady Freedom Returns should be rooming with.

1. Good luck and good vibes being sent...

Sorry I'm not familiar with your story. Are you moving into a full time care facility for emotional issues? It sounds like it since you mentioned a treatment team. If so it's good to hear that you will now have that amount of support and comfort, though I'm sorry to hear that your issues are that bad. Those types of facilities do indeed have some amazing people. Good luck, I'm sure you will be fine, we are always here for support!! And I know it's hard to leave your pets, they are emotionally supportive and it's hard to do without them, but they will be there when you get back

Thank God the poor cats, and even the snake, are safe.

Reminding me once again of the funniest line I've read at the DUmp, at least since stevenumbers's girlfriend claimed to have a cold sore:

I cried my eyes out in mike's truck going to petsmart to get frozen rats for my snake.

You know, the thought of that ****ed up freakshow who is cognizant enough to post on the Internet being allowed in taxpayer funded public housing just makes me want to explode.

For now, at least, she isn't in public housing. She's in a nuthatch.
Keeping freaks like UGP warehoused out of sight is a better use of public money than most.

Maybe we'll hear later how her sister fed her cats to the snake.   :lmao:

The only "supervised housing arrangement" UGP needs involves solitary confinement and a straightjacket.

Is she the one that threatened someone with a knife and the police had to cart her off?

I get confused...there are so many of them.  :mental:

I think the Kitty and the Virgin need to be room mates in the nut house. It's a win-win. The Virgin would get laid and the Kitty would get a soul mate that is just as messed up as her.

Ya know... I kinda feel sorry for them in a way. As a human being. Then I remember they are dummies and that thought leaves my brain.   :lmao:

I really think they need R. Lee Ermy help. That could be one hell of a reality show!!!! Put them on an island and let the Gunny have at them. They would either kill themselves or get themselves straightened out. Win-win!

Isn't the kitty a woman who wants to be a gay male with a gay boyfriend?

Any port in a storm there Dori. Guy sounds desperate. The Kitty probably is getting desperate too. Kinda hard to be a gay male when you got mommy parts down below.   :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

And how the snake was then punted to a dry spot in the Everglades. :fuelfire:

This is what passes for optimism on Skin's Island of Misfit ****-ups. Lady FreeDUmb was voicing similar hopes for when she got into Tucson.

I'm wondering if this new place is going to be the subway cat's last port, her last earthly home.

She's just a year or two shy of fifty, and has been on heavy drugs for more than thirty years.  And her obesity, her body-piercings, her high-risk behavior, haven't done her physical being much good.

I once knew someone very much like the subway cat, a relative of someone who lives near here.  I used to see her every Thanksgiving.  I first set eyes on her in 2001, when she was 51 years old, and she died in 2009.

The pharmaceuticals, her own temperament, and the abuse her body took, just plain simply wore her out, and she died.

The subway cat's only going to get worse, never better, from here on out, and so the only possible next home for her after this is probably permanent institutionalization, or the funeral home.

I'm no authority on section 8 housing but wouldn't folks with kids get precedence over lazy slobs who appear to be able to support themselves.  I would think Subway Cat and Tucson Tiger should have no chance at housing.

It mentions Section 8 three times in a four line paragraph.

I went to the Baltimore County, MD website, in the housing voucher section.  There, we learn that

Quote
Families with the earliest date and time of application are served first. The average wait to reach the top of the Waiting List is approximately seven years.

I don't think she has to worry about pet policy.

More subsidized properties might open up, if people acted decently and civilized.

Exactly, around here no one will touch it beacuse once you accept the kings coin you have no say.
They can damn near tear the house down and you are not allowed to evict them.

Near where I live, we have about 12 houses on one street that are  section 8.  Only one house on that block looks taken care of.  They  even have blankets on the windows for window covering. Dead lawns full of weeds and no plants.

What an embarrassment that street is.  I would hate to be a neighbor living across the street from them.

Bring back the Dickensian Poor Houses.  Shack them all up together in dorms with strict wardens.  Separate the sexes.  Make them work at something useful, for wages they can save to get out.

One shady-looking dude was begging my husband for an apartment.  "Come on, man!  If I do anything to it, the state'll pay!"

We have a strict No-DUmmies policy.  The last was a fine young engineer, who was so non-DUmmie, he got a promotion and moved out of state.

Depends on what state.  In Mass. an illegal alien gets priority over veterans when it comes to section 8, EBT, etc.

Aunt zituni and her Gucci glasses, mink stole, and D&G purse have yet to thank me.
