Are you tolerant of other viewpoints on DU?
There was a time when conservatism, in any of its forms, was not permitted on DU. This was solely a progressive, anti-Bush site. However, sensible and liberal Republicans were permitted to post from time to time if they were not conservative.
The reasoning was that the conservative argument had nothing to offer. Everyone had heard all the propaganda and nonsense before. It would be nothing but a distraction on DU.
But at some point, conservative and moderate positions were permitted to post and argue their positions on DU. This was quite a change to most progressives on the board.
However, we do seem to have a lot of varied opinions, including moderate and conservative, on board nowadays. Is that a good thing? Isn't that better than preaching to the choir? How tolerant are you of other viewpoints?

some people claim to not put people on ignore here , I have hundreds of people on ignore and there may be thousands soon , who cares ?

Leftists are all about tolerance of others ideas as long as they agree with them. Same goes for free speech, you get all you want as long as it is approved.

A left winger calling him/herself tolerant is like saying you f**k for virginity. It goes against their very way of thinking. They demand tolerance from you, but they gain no ground showing tolerance themselves.

Kentac is confusing liberal Republicans with Kennedy's democrat party when it comes to comparing it to a progressive democrat.
The site is called democrat underground, not progressive underground. Democrats in the vein of Zell Miller, and there are some that post at DU, are labeled conservatives because they don't bow down to Karl Marx.
Skimmer was correct in developing a place where the insanest of the insane can be herded into a central spot, keeping them from causing damage to the outside world. Progressives at DU live in a fishbowl. They are such a large majority at DU that they believe that is a true representation of the general population as a whole, when in fact, progressives are a small minority of the democrat party make-up.

These days left wingers call themselves by so many names: progressive, liberal, socialist, communist, centrist etc. I honestly didn't know there were differences.
