Abandoned Dogs Roam Detroit in Packs as Humans Dwindle

As many as 50,000 stray dogs roam the streets and vacant homes of bankrupt Detroit, replacing residents, menacing humans who remain and overwhelming the city’s ability to find them homes or peaceful deaths.

Dens of as many as 20 canines have been found in boarded-up homes in the community of about 700,000 that once pulsed with 1.8 million people. One officer in the Police Department's skeleton animal-control unit recalled a pack splashing away in a basement that flooded when thieves ripped out water pipes.
“The dogs were having a pool party,†said Lapez Moore, 30. “We went in and fished them out.â€
Poverty roils the Motor City and many dogs have been left to fend for themselves, abandoned by owners who are financially stressed or unaware of proper care. Strays have killed pets, bitten mail carriers and clogged the animal shelter, where more than 70 percent are euthanized.

I read an article yesterday or day before regarding the housing market and the cities that are doing the worst and the ones that are seeing the best recovery with highest sales.
Detroit was number 5.... in the list of best recovery!!!!
Now...haven't we been seeing all over the news this month how horrible Detroit is and all the abandoned houses and people leaving etc?
Which one is true?
If Detroit is seeing a huge uptick in the housing market ... just WHO in the hell is buying these houses?
There is a group that has come in here... I will look it up later....that is going around the country to various cities, buying in mid-level affordable houses. Here it's been in the low $100's to low $300's. Rumor has it, they are looking to buy 300 houses here! That's a lot of houses...anywhere. They are paying cash. They houses are going to be used for "rental properties".
I hate to sound :tinfoil: .... but 300 houses!! When it first started happening, people - Realtors, home sellers, the media - were really excited. Yes it is good for the housing market and local economy... but. Who exactly will be renting these houses?

"Third world country" and "democrat controlled" are the same thing.
So many of our cities are turning into desolate wastelands because of lib policies. Saint Louis, Memphis just to name a couple. These cities are well below their peak populations.

You have a point.
I wasn't things "thugsters".... I was thinking terrorists.
OakRidge is convenient to most of those being purchased. Also very easy to get to several of the largest TVA lakes and screw up our water and electricity. :(

I hadn't considered that angle.
I read somewhere that we allow 250,000 muslims to immigrate here every year. Buying 300 homes for them in many towns would be a good way to evenly distribute the terrorism around the country.

Maybe, with luck, all the Chinese will buy up all the crack houses, burned-out hulks, Section 8 ghettoes, and abandoned properties and encroach on what the muzzies did to Dearborn back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
Then an out-and-out range war would start.
Once everything else that wasn't already trashed has been destroyed, the bulldozers can come in and shovel everything onto barges in the Detroit River and get it to a series of land fills in Canada somewhere.
Then maybe we can start all over again.

Detroit's always had dog packs. I bet they have more now. Like any third world kind of place. We used to shoot them when I was growing up there. Mangy, hungry things that would stalk you out of desperation. We tried to be exact and not just wound one. I never only wounded. I always felt very sorry for them.
What a hole that place is.
