Title: I beg your pardon
Post by: dandi on August 21, 2013, 04:44:26 PM
The numbnuts can't even leave DU long enough to start a petition, just another useless "check in here" circle jerk:

Check in here to support an immediate pardon for Bradley Manning.

There is no way in hell that that kid deserves to spend 35 years in a military just for making sure that the world knows the truth.

And it's bullshit to say that Nixon should've been pardoned but Manning shouldn't.

Dream on, dipshits.

'Scooter Libby' got one before his judicial paths were exhausted.

And his leak actually endangered national security, to boot.

20. Not a pardon, they can do what this DOJ did for Republican Alascan Senator Ted Stevens,

rescind the verdict, throw it out.

A pardon implies guilt and forgiveness. He did not commit any crimes.

But I agree with the spirit of your OP, completelyl.

Oops. I spoke too soon. Someone did start another useless petition:

23. If you check in, then sign the petition.

We petition the Obama administration to: Restore the United States’ human rights record and grant clemency to Pvt. Bradley Manning!

37. Was just thinking that same thing this morning.

Manning should've been sentenced to time served.......since he was actually TORTURED ( severe mental cruelty, deprivation, isolation, etc. ) which amounted to cruel and unusual punishment.

Try the damn war criminals from the Bush, Sr. through Bush Jr. years, AND the financial miscreants who nearly toppled the civilized world, and THEN we can talk "justice" for people like Manning and Snowden.

64. I Support That, Sir

The sentence handed down is extremely unjust.

Anything more than time served, particularly given the torturous conditions of confinement, shocks the conscience.

Oh shut up, you pompous ass.

This may not make sense to others but Manning is a traitor and Snowden is a hero in my book.

Manning gave away information that our enemies could use to kill our servicemen. Snowden exposed material demonstrating how (our enemy) the 0bama regime is unconstitutionally stealing our freedoms.

Not to my surprise the DUchebags think the exact opposite.

I'm with you.  Snowden demonstrated that we are the Oministration's enemy.

Need petition to extend time to 95 years.....or a bullet.
My only hope....If/when he gats out, he can't make a sound when breaking wind.

Regular normal people aren't clambering for his pardon.  They're standing around the water cooler laughing at the fact that he wants to live as a woman now.  Laughing at him.  (True story, bro).

There's a chasm here on CC about Snowden, but I'm with you. Manning leaked sensitive information about our national defense to Wikileaks. He's a ****ing traitor. Where they get this whistleblowing shit is beyond me. Snowden revealed to the American people that we were being spied on by our government. I don't consider that treason. ...but to each his own.

Well, DUmmie sabrina is accidentally sort of right about one thing.  Getting convicted of a felony and then pardoned does NOT completely restore all your civil rights and privileges, there are a good number of Federal cases which make it clear you aren't going to be getting a firearms license after your pardoned, because you still have a felony conviction despite the pardon.

Manning - in typical narcissistic homosexual fashion - did what he did solely for himself.  It was all about H.I.M.

He deserves the Judas Cradle.

Armitage was the leaker, queer.

Ask them what Scooter Libby was convicted of and you'll either get a blank stare or a wrong answer.

On Snowden, the influence of the jug-eared muslim forces people on the edges of the left and right to reverse their philosophies in order to support Snowden's attacks on American security.

For a conservative to be a Snowden apologist, he has to suddenly discover that inviolate right to privacy DUmmies use to justify the slaughter of unborn infants and sodomy. Only overwhelming, justifiable contempt for the jug-eared muslim, who is temporarily in charge of NSA, makes that possible.

For a DUmpmonkey to be a Snowden apologist is much easier, since like Snowden and the democrat party he already hates the United States. But the DUmmy also has to carefully, gently oppose his messiah, and it isn't easy to do that and avoid heresy charges.

I think the majority between those two extremes sees Snowden as a traitor to the United States. Snowden's place on the spectrum of heroism is is clearly demonstrated by spilling America's most closely-held secrets to the Chinese, and then taking asylum in Putin's new Soviet Union. If Snowden's a hero, then the Rosenbergs should get posthumous Medals of Freedom.

Personally I think you're mostly wrong on that one, especially in setting up only two possible extremes, hero and traitor, which is a false dichotomy.  But like Reb said, to each his own.
