Army Pfc. Bradley Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison after being convicted of espionage and other charges in connection with a massive leak of classified material.
The judge in the case, Army Col. Denise Lind, announced the sentence in a military courtroom in Fort Meade, Md.
He also received a dishonorable discharge, will forfeit his pay and benefits and was reduced in rank

I hope he gets a cellmate named Bubba.

Talk about a slap on the wrist.
-
Talk about a slap on the wrist.
For sure. He should have gotten life with no parole, or executed for being a traitor.
-
Under military law, the sentence will be automatically appealed. He would probably be eligible for parole after he served one-third or 10 years of his sentence, whichever is longer.
Unbelievable.

Unbelievable.
What would be his chances of survival if that happened?

I'm sure there are plenty of liberal enclaves he would be welcomed at. San Francisco, London, Los Angeles.

He'd still be hunted down and eliminated.

I thought military had no parole like federal prison. When they say 35 years, it is 35 full years, no parole. No? :???:
Anyways, Bradley Manning should be hanged. :argh:
-
And now we know, you can blast US secrets around during a hissy fit but so long as you claim "gender confusion" you'll get no more than a couple decades with good behavior. That's some deterrent right there.
-
Nope, according to the UCMJ, he can appeal for clemency after 5 years and is eligible for parole after serving 1/3 of his sentence, IIRC.

Bummer. I always thought military justice is harsher than civilian justice. I know federal prison is harsh with no parole.
-
Very light sentence. Way too light. DU is kinda going crazy over this, as usual.

Not with a judge appointed by blammo. Or was it clintoon?

Talk about a slap on the wrist.
No shit. If it were up to me, he'd be getting his neck stretched instead of his asshole.

::) Of course.

Who will he\she have to prance around with in the military slammer? Will Brianna want a cell mate who will push in her stool? A cell mate who thinks nothing of murdering women and children in Iraq or Afghanistan? Are traitors in a military prison treated like pedophiles in civilian prison? I guess I never really gave it very much thought. Brianna may be in for a rude awakening once the cell door closes in general population. I am betting on five years max if not pardoned. (I mean if not pardoned within five he\she will take the bed sheet / boot lace express Uncle Sam didn't have the guts for).

Trial balloon.
Let's see what the MSM does with this.

No doubt of that.

Me either. No idea.

Assange is still camped out in the Argentinian embassy in London. I hear he's sleeping on a cot, living off take-out and website donations.
Don't go into the bathroom after that dude.

The judge is a Full Bird Colonel O-6.

Maybe not. We'll just have to see what Bubba can arrange for Princess Poofy Cheeks.

Bubba will be treating him like the little bitch he is, but Bubba only needs one hole. And he knows where to find it. Princess Poofy Cheeks won't need to have another hole created just for Bubba.

I wouldn't offer odds either way that Brianna turns out to be as pathetic and irritating as a woman as Bradley was as a man, and Bubba may just give "her" 3 or 4 new glory holes before the guards can pull him off.

There's one thing that Bubba can do to eliminate the whining and the pathetic little mumblings emanating from Brianna's mouth.

The USDB is a lot more orderly and well-regulated than Fed prisons, after all they tend to start with a much higher class of people...everyone in their had a clean enough slate to enlist in the first place, and most of them are in for crimes that are more situational than career criminal kind of things, so the prison population is fundamentally different than in the Fed system.
My big take-away from Manning's defense: Transsexual dude claims his transsexuality is a mental disease.
:rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I would think traitors are really hated in prison.

I think so too. Traitors, pedophiles and other sexual predators.

Now, it's Chelsea Manning? I thought it was Brianna Manning. :???:  :mental:
Does this mean he serves 35 years each under Bradley, Brianna, and Chelsea.

Prisoner Manning will be his name for a long time to come.

Oh, I'm sure Princess Puffy Cheeks will pick up many, many nicknames as he develops a taste for pillow stuffing of every variety.

Or whatever number they assign him.

I had thought that prisoners in the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks (and probably brigs elsewhere) are called "Convict."

35 years in prison is a small price to pay to become a DUmmie hero.......I'm to lazy to look up the sarcasm tag.
DUmmies will have forgotten him by this time next year.
