We had a spoiled little cracka locally, who punched a 50+ year old soccer ref in the back of the head because he didn't like the ref's call against him. The referee died as a result of the injury. The 17-year old "kid" will only be incarcerated for killing the man for a little under 2-1/2 years (gets out on his 21st birthday).

Three teens have been accused as the killers of Australian baseball player Chris Lane. Lane, who was living in Duncan, Oklahoma, on a baseball scholarship, was gunned down Friday afternoon in a drive-by shooting. One of the three has reportedly confessed to the random murder.
The Oklahoma teens who face first-degree murder charges have been named as Chancey Luna, James Edwards and Michael Jones.
But their parents yesterday protested their innocence.
Jennifer Luna, whose son is suspected of firing the fatal shot, claimed her son was at home saying: “My son is not that way. My son is a good kid.â€
The three teens now say that they killed Lane at random because they were “bored.â€

AN Oklahoma court has been told how one of the boys accused of murdering Melbourne baseballer Chris Lane danced as he was being booked into jail.

THE teenagers accused of murdering Melbourne baseball player Chris Lane were dobbed in by a local who claims his son was the trio's next target.
Chancey Allen Luna, 16, and James Francis Edwards Jr., 15 have been charged with first-degree murder over the fatal shooting in Duncan, Oklahoma. Michael Dewayne Jones, 17, was charged with using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and with accessory to first-degree murder after the fact.
James Johnson, 52, called the police to tell them that the accused killers were hiding in the car park of the Immauel Baptist Church car park at about 5pm, two hours after they allegedly shot Lane.
"They threatened to kill my son because they are in a gang, the Crips, and were trying to get my son in it and I wouldn't let him do it.
He said the group consisted of teenagers who he called "wannabes."
"I've been living here all my life and we never had this, but in the past few years gangs from Lawton have been coming here," Johnson said of the Crips.
Johnson's son also attends Duncan High School, where suspect Luna and Edwards Jr. were students. He said he knew both boys, and described them as "troublemakers" and "bullies" who had "no parental supervision."
Looks like this is a gang related crime. The trio planned to kill another person.

If the prosecutor can get his act together - and keep the professional race baiters from interfering - the statutes permit having these thugs tried as adults if the circumstances of their crime sufficiently warrant. With just a little bit of divine providence, the very best these little shits will face will be life as guests of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. It's not entirely beyond the scope of probability that they will be looking at a one-way trip to Death Row.

Prosecutors on Tuesday afternoon charged two teens, 16-year-old Chancey Allen Luna and 15-year-old James Francis Edwards Jr., as adults with first-degree murder. Both are being held without bond.
Bond was set at $1 million for 17-year-old Michael Jones, who allegedly drove the vehicle carrying the other suspects. He was charged with the use of a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and accessory to murder after the fact. Jones is considered a youthful offender but will be tried in adult court.
Edwards has had run-ins with the law previously and had been in court Friday, the day of the killing, to sign documents related to his juvenile probation.
Josh Earnest, a White House spokesman, was asked about the allegations at a press conference Wednesday and said, "This sounds like a pretty tragic case." He went on to say he does not want to get ahead of the legal process.

I also heard a lawyer on FOX just say that the Supreme Court decided back in '05, that kids 18 and under couldn't face the death penalty. If they are charged with first degree, proving that it was premeditated may be a problem.

I'd agree. These were simply three punks out looking for a little "fun." The victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time and got a bullet in the back. Not much premeditation for that. They weren't targeting him specifically, evidently.

The Stephens County jury found Chancey Allen Luna guilty in the August 16, 2013, death of Christopher Lane, who was shot in the back while running along a city street in Duncan. The jury recommended that Luna be sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Defense attorneys acknowledged that Luna fired the fatal shot from a passing car that he was riding in, but contended that he meant only to scare Lane.
Chancey Luna has been found guilty of murdering Christopher Lane.
