What’s the matter with Egypt’s liberals?
The narrative arc of Egypt’s liberal movement, just two years ago a remarkable story of overcoming impossible odds and helping to oust President Hosni Mubarak, has since taken a turn toward tragedy of its most classical form. The hows and whys are complicated, but the movement’s setbacks, at times self-inflicted, have been tougher to ignore since the July 3 coup that removed President Mohamed Morsi. Many of them have so enthusiastically embraced military rule – and, at times, violence against Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood supporters – that observers are wondering whether Egypt’s liberals can still really be considered liberals.

Its a long rant, you can read it if you want, the link is above

Yeah, Good liberals would have already kowtowed to their islamic masters. Fighting back? No, a good liberal would have wet his pants in fear.

But we are dealing with muslims here. Muslims kill. liberal or islamic, they all will kill when given the chance.
I'm surprised DU is in shock over this. Well OK, I'm not. DU are utter idiots who have no concept of consequence.

Maybe the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive should pause to remember that there are no liberals (as she defines them) in Egypt.  It's a wholly different world.

cali needs to get out more.

Egypt's liberals were, do doubt, overwhelmed by an earwig infestation of the Great Pyramid.

In Egypt, the liberals are the Christians and the few Moderate Muslims that tolerate Christians.

A "liberal" in a ME Muslim country is one who advocates chopping only one hand off for theft rather than both.

That puts it into perspective.

Her post is beyond naive or even stupid. It is insane.  If she went over there and started spouting this BS to any of the factions involved, she would be sporting a 7.62 mm hole in her forehead within seconds.

They are probably concerned that their families will be tortured and killed by the Muslim Brotherhood goat****ers that the Obama admin apparently supports.

This morning, it is being reported that the Egyptian military is looking to ally with Moscow now, seeing that the Obamorons support the Muslim Brotherhood.

Just when I think cali can't get any stupider, she bleats out something like this.

cali, there never was a "liberal movement" in Egypt. That was a fiction created by King Hussein's propaganda corps (you call them 'the American press").

Here is a "liberal movement":

Here is your "Arab Spring"- Cairo, 2011:

See the difference?

Only idiots like cali, the MSM, McCain, Obama, and W ever thought the thirst for democracy was the principal fuel behind the Arab Spring.  I'm actually pretty sure Hitlery doesn't believe it either, but cynically pretends she does, though of course what 'Democracy' means to her is probably a whole Hell of a lot different than what it means to most Americans.

Funny, last night on the news I saw an Egyptian woman (in a car) say she was glad the soldiers were pushing back against the rebels.

How can this be?   :???:

Because like everything else in the third world, it has nothing at all to do with democracy and everything to do with 'Whose turn is it to wear the ass-kicking boot?'  Of course, that's also the style of governance big-government DemonRats want to install here...

The Egyptian Army General was trained here in our war college. He said there would be democratic elections, not a theocracy, which the MB Morsi tried to instill.  He also said the Muslim version of Democracy is not what we invision here.

The only friends we've ever had in Egypt were Sadat and Mubarak.

The 0bamaite muzzie savages shitcanned both of them.
