Title: FaceBook Blackout Day
Post by: txradioguy on August 12, 2013, 01:29:12 PM
Quote
We are organizing a nationwide "blackout" of Facebook to protest their arbitrary and capricious policies targeting conservatives with censoring and suspensions. We are asking for all conservatives to suspend (deactivate) their accounts for at least 24 hours on August 25th. If you are a business or promoting a page and have a FB advertising account, we are asking that you also suspend that for 24 hours.

Sounds OK, but in the grande scheme of things it won't mean shit.

Maybe so...but it's got FB worried to the point that...from what I'm reading on there...they've been doing their best to block ban and otherwise impede people form promoting this event.

...This is really pissing FB off.

If for no other reason, this is sufficient justification to do it IMHO. :fuelfire:

Any Liberal cause belief or sentiment is protected and encouraged by FB.  Speak out against Liberalism or try and sponsor pro military pro tea part and pro conservative issues people or events on FB and the DU trolls come out and start spamming the report button and get you banned and your pages removed.

That place tries to stifle free speech in a way that DU wishes it could.

Rebel has been seeing this over there where Islam is concerned.

Thanks!

I don't post political stuff there since I never know who sees it.

Every day is a FB backout day for me.

I think anyone who posts their PIA Or, frankly, anything that can be tracked to you in RL) on FB is an idiot of the 1st order.

Nice to see that you have such a high opinion of some of us.

I don't care about what the gubmint knows or doesn't know about me.  I watch Fox News on my TV, stream Levin on my smartphone...purchase guns, shoot guns, drink beer, have hydroponic and regular vegetable gardens on my premise. My man brews beer, his grain purchases are on credit card. I figure I have already hit their alert more than once.   Every friggin thing we do is legal, nothing under the table.  I have nothing to hide from the gubmint, including my opinions on FB or anywhere else on the innernets.

The only reason I don't get political on FB much is because I have young family members linked to my page, so I try to keep it as "G" as I can.

I'm cool with a blackout....does that mean 24 hours away from Candy Crush?   :whatever:

Well, I'm no idiot of any kind of order, but I do have a FB account and use it to mostly to keep tabs on my former military musician colleagues. FB itself is a political shitbag, but I do like the way it's connected me with others that I'd long since lost track of. And it's free. I don't play those endlessly-appearing games and I don't "poke" people. I use the tools that FB provides to keep my information -- somewhat, at least -- safeguarded.

As for the government, **** 'em. What are they gonna do? Break my door down because I subscribe to the Tea Party page?  :whatever:
