Help, Etsy sellers
Made my first Etsy sale two days ago. I cannot for the life of me find out what happened to the buyer's payment. I have a note from Etsy telling me to look at the transaction in Paypal regarding delay if an echeck was used. But there is no such transaction in Paypal. Nada. No payment from her. Despite an Etsy designation as "completed" for her transaction.
Is there some black hole where Etsy money goes?
For those who don't know, etsy is where the hippywife primitive Mrs. Alfred Packer went, when hippyhubby Wild Bill told her to leave Skins's island, as she was paying more attention to the primitives than to him.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time dredging up any sympathy for the old bitch.
Overpriced knicknacks and old junk does not qualify as "art".

Me neither....in fact I celebrate when bad things happen to any DUmbass....it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling when things go wrong for a primitive.

I personally have zero knowledge of Esty but, if it adds to Gaswire's misery, I'm all for it.

I've never been there, but I guess it's a site where "creators" of home-made jewelry sell their "crafts."
That's where the hippywife primitive Mrs. Alfred Packer hangs out now.
But since this is the pie-and-jam primitive, perhaps the site allows independent operators to hawk their flea-market junk too.

It's too bad when somebody gets scammed, but then some folks deserve it. Maybe it'll be a lesson learned. Maybe not.

Probably not.
I wonder if the addled grasswire primitive's aware that even if she doesn't collect the money, according to new IRS rules imposed by the Big Zero, it's going to be taxed anyway.
-
Ooops, I need to clarify.
Even if the addled grasswire primitive doesn't get the money, it still counts as income, and the IRS is going to tax her on it, unless she bothers to fill out a "casualty loss" to deduct it.
0bama's rule, not ours.

My impression is that etsy is for homemade costume jewelry too tacky for a flea market.
It's like merchandise rejected by the tweeners at Claire's.

It has that reputation, but it's mostly "Vintage" (I.e., old crap, and fifty sellers with the same shit) rather than creative products from artists and artisans.

Given that taxes are so good, she should be glad of the opportunity to pay too much.

That idea could work if libs would pay taxes.

She probably got banned from ebay for shady dealings and then switched to etsy, where she somehow has already worn out her welcome.

We have to jump on the band wagon fast to make a buck on EBay.
When the Beanie Baby's came out my DIL saw the possibility's and before the prices went through the roof bought perhaps $60.00 worth and slammed them on EBay.
She put out a bid on this and sat back watching the frenzy rise. By the time the prices doubled she accepted all bids and made a profit.
Me I remembered her experience and when I heard the Tarzan action figure was being recalled I went to Walmart and bought the last 2 in stock. $9.99 each.
The reason for the recall was that Tarzan would yell, wave his arm so it appeared he was masterbating.
I worked with a couple of fellows that were likely to want one so I brought them in to work and let them figure out what they were willing to pay. Highest bid was $50.00 each as there was no where else they could be found in the area.
Sold for $100.00 to the gay guy in the turtle neck shirt.

Not so. I got vintage spoons ends made into a necklace that has each of my kids names and birthdates on it. I get compliments all the time. There are some pretty innovative stuff on there. Then there is crap but they don't sell much anyway if it's crap.
