One thing that was interesting in today's presser
Idaho had not activated the Amber alert, since he was not believed to be that far. He was found by people in the back country, who were on horseback. The people who came across them though they were odd, and once they came back to civilization saw a few national media reports on the Amber alert from California.
They put two plus two together and called the local law enforcement.
This is why this morning they found the vehicle, as they started the search at first light. It struck me as both extremely good, and at the same time somewhat scary and can see how this is a double edged sword.
It's good, the amber alert, even in a state with no present activation, worked due to national coverage. So chances are they will recover Hanna Anderson... that is an extremely good thing. What happens when somebody decides to use it for bad, looking for people they do not precisely like?
It just had me thinking... that is all.

2. I'm not sure i understand what you mean.
When would it be used for someone "they" do not like? Why would they like or dislike a child

Just a similar mechanism... you do not need a kid... you need interested state trying to chase somebody down.
I swear, people lack an imagination these days. For the record, a few dystopias contain a system such as this one in plot.

I sometimes feel so sorry for Nads. The huge burden of trying to educate that bunch of ignorant and ungrateful swine has crushed her down to the shape of a Bartlett pear. She is so fortunate for the folks of the Cave. We get it....We always get it.

She has told us several times that she and her doctor agree she's at her ideal weight.
Once she gained three pounds, but a few minutes on the elliptical melted that off.

Most curious about this case. In the last few years Dateline has had a few cases much like this one where the teenage girl goes willingly. In fact a few cases the teenager herself sets up the crime.
This girl is 16 and not 6 years old. Some reports say the abductor fell in love with her, but at 16 it is possible she also fell for him.
Just have to wait and see how this turns out, but it is odd that one man could have the control of a girl that age and hike her across all those miles unless he is drugging her or giving her a reason to come with him.
Interesting story so far.

She's in really good shape. I can generate exercise outputs of about 1,000 calories per hour, but not always for the whole hour. So to lose my 3 pounds I have to do that at least 10 times.
I look forward to the point in my fitness where I can equal nads 10,800 calorie output in just a few minutes.
