Kos' Supposed Obama Birth Certificate -- F A K E ?
—Ace
I'm not capable of evaluating the technical case here but to a layman, it seems compelling.
Do I know it's fake? No. Do I think it's fake? Yes. It's suspicious as hell, though it's possible that a real Certification of Live Birth also has these suspicious-looking anomalies.
Whatever the case of course, this doesn't prove that Obama wasn't born in the US (or whatever the theory is as to why his birth certificate is important).
It does, however, seem to establish that:
1) The Kos Kidz learned much from Dan Rather and Bill Burkett, but not enough; they still don't know how to hide their forgeries, but that's not so important, because the Leftist/Media Collective pretends forgeries are real when it's in their interest to do so.
and
2) Obama let this forgery stand because it was politically helpful to him.
I guarantee you that the MSM, which often proclaims blogs have no credibility, believes that this fake settles the issue and thus disobligates them from doing what they strongly wished not to do anyway (that is, ask Obama for his birth certificate).
And of course they all are familiar with Kos and all the big leftwing bloggers. They're big blog readers. They just never read conservative blogs, except when they want to discover an inappropriate comment they can use to discredit the blog as a whole.
Here is the site.

The Daily Kos blog has posted a JPG that allegedly is Barack Obama's "Certificate of Birth." From a detailed analysis of the image and the text, it looks like it was created by a graphics program, and is not a true copy of an original, certified document.
I've been working with computers, printers, and typewriters for over 20 years, and given a set of printed letters, I can discern what kind of device made them. Printer output is quite different from the text created by a graphics program, and even if a document looks "official," it may not be.
The "Certificate of Birth," which I will call "COB," is posted on the Kos website as a color JPG. The reason for making it a color JPG, IMHO, is to induce the viewer to believe that this is a genuine copy of an original document -- something that a black & white, or even greyscale, reproduction would not convey as well.
Basically, anyone could have produced this document on his or her own computer, and I'll tell you why.
Check it out.

that birth certificate hit Kos a week and a half ago. it caused a stir for a morning, but there
is no reason to question it. if you go to most states and request a copy of your BC, you
get a modern looking reproduction, not a photostat.
-
Personally, I don't buy it.
It may be true that one ends up with a certificate printed on modern equipment in some states (not so in Mass, We get copies of the original) but the one detail that is absent is an embossed seal - the kind that gets crimped into paper by a notary. The shadows of which would still be visible in this scanned image.

Depends on the quality of the scanner. I've had many notarized papers scanned, and I usually don't see the seal.
-
That is true -- It Could be a low quality scanner .. Above the inverted number toward the bottom, there is evidence of 'something' - but it seems to be too small to be a crimped seal - Id estimate it at no bigger than an inch and a half in diameter - I figured I was looking at a watermark but It could be a very small seal.

But with notary stuff these days, a lot of notaries have changed to stamps, rather than the embossers.

there was a date stamped on the back of it; sometime in June of 2007, IIRC. the ink soaked through to
the front, apparently, and it came through on the scan.

If it is really a scan of a real piece of paper, wouldn't it have lines or creases? Even brand new paper that's not been mangled still looks like "paper" when scanned into a jpg. At least I think so.

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but after twenty some years in the medical field I can tell you with certainty...you can't put him back now!

No no no.. In this case, we are going to need his cousin, "Dookie Howser, Elephant Proctologist" to be able to "put him back" at this point... :uhsure:

I'm curious as to why the Certificate Number has been redacted. That number should be nothing more than a random number in a long list of documents.
-
this does raise an interesting question... if the "real" COB is out there on the internet, does it not stand to reason that anyone could request one from the state of hawaii? his privacy is already broken, and he, if not exactly endorsing, didn't object to it being made public... any lawyers who could argue that these actions are tantamount to signing a release?
-
actually, I posted this over on USMILNET. The blotch near the bottom was the date issued, "June 6, 2007". The Certificate # was redacted. From the source I posted at USMILNET, there doesn't appear to be any computerized tampering other than those two areas. That said, the certificate sure doesn't look right to me. Mine has where I was born, as well as where my mom and dad were born, along with dates, etc about me. Most state issued birth certs that I have seen as a Navy Recruiter had a lot more info than Obama's.
