Title: Small Businesses Can't Avoid ObamaCare by Switching to Part-Time Workers

Small Businesses Can't Avoid ObamaCare by Switching to Part-Time Workers (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/08/05/Uh-Oh-Small-Businesses-Can-t-Avoid-ObamaCare-By-Switch-To-Part-Time-Workers)

Quote
Small businesses hoping to avoid the high costs of ObamaCare by switching to part-time employees got some unwelcome news last Thursday, as Paul Bedard at the Washington Examiner reported that the Small Business Administration launched a website to explain to employers the federal government will add up the number of part-time staff employed to determine if enough hours have been worked to meet the “full-time equivalent” criterion.

Company X has 40 full-time employees working 40 hours per week, along with 20 part-time employees working 15 hours per week. The 20 part-time employees are counted as 10 full-time equivalent employees. Company X has 50 full-time employees and is subject to the employer shared responsibility provisions.

That is total bullshit.  Obama's minions are trying to find ways to limit the damage he is doing.

This harkens back to when slaves were counted as 3 fifths of a man.

And how many businesses will simply shutter their doors entirely.  Yeah, you know it's coming.

So what does this mean for the part time employees?  Is the company required to pay for their insurance, or for a portion of they insurance?

In the above scenario, it means there are 20 people now looking for work.

Or 60 people working 24 hrs per week.

Probably the reason why part time employment is so high.

Wasn't there some kind of threshold of 50 or more employees???? A company with 50 or more full time employees was required to furnish them with health insurance. So 40 full time plus enough part time workers to equal 50+ full time employees will be required to furnish all it's employees with health insurance......it's simply a case of DUmmie math.

I think it originally was employers with fewer than 50 full time (30+ hrs per week) employees, who won't have to pay a fine of $3000 per employee for not providing them with health insurance.

This formula makes it so an employer can't pay more than 1421 hrs in labor per week, what ever the combination is, to avoid the penalty.

My parents employ 5 people. It is SO expensive to pay for the three full-timers, kind of makes it prohibitive to even employ any part-timers.

What scares me is that my doctors will retire or just move out of the country. My ENT told me he is thinking about a move to NZ. My GP told me it cost him $65,000 to comply with Obamacare. A former GP of mine told me he might have to drop those that have Medicare. Obamacare is going to be a disaster for workers and those that need medical care.
