Ain't nuthin' but a thang... :-)
I guess they learned that just about every Mormon chapel in existence has a basketball court in it - and most of us know how to use it (myself being one of the exceptions, in this case: I can't stand the silly game). Ask Danny Ainge sometime which one scared him more: the NBA, or Church ball. :evillaugh:

That was cute!
DS - "Church ball!" I can imagine it gets pretty western, as we say here. I like the new approach the missionary kids I see here are taking. Much more get-involved approach, whether service or activity. I don't know if it is translating into numbers.

It isn't necessarily an "approach", nor is it really new. Some of the best "proselyters" that I worked with when I served my mission, lo these many moons ago, were the ones who were just most comfortable just being themselves. Sometimes it was basketball with the kids, other times it was "service projects" for one of the elderly folks; heck, once, it was my companion and I (mostly my companion, in this case) jumping down the throat of a guy beating on his girlfriend.
For the most part, it's been my experience that if you can show people the connection between what you're saying and what you are, you've created an environment where the Spirit of God can do it's job and convey the message that you're there to convey.

I've worked for, with, and they've worked for me. They are some of the finest and most reliable folks I've ever had the privilege of knowing.
