US to temporarily shut down embassies around the world Sunday amid security concerns

The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday -- including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt -- as a precautionary measure over terror-related concerns, State Department officials said.
State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.†Officials would not describe the nature of the threat.
Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries, meaning that is where the closures will have an impact. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.

I just received a breaking news alert on my phone talking about an "unspecified" threat from Al-Qaeda that's looming. Call me crazy, but when it comes to these scummers, and a possible new 9/11, I want the reports to be as specific as possible. That's just me though.

The American Muslim Political Action Committee is hosting what it hopes will be a gathering of one million people in Washington, D.C., on the 12th anniversary of 9/11 to urge the government to reveal "the truth" about the attacks.

I seriously doubt that GWB would have shut down our Embassies and taken the route our current coward on chief is taking.

Call me cynical...but could it be that this is merely being used as a way to provide cover for all the intrusion the NSA has be doing into OUR lives?
Now the Feds can use this "biggest threat since 9/11" meme to say "SEE SEE this is a reault of all the data mining the FBI and the NSA have been doing! We saved lives! If we hadn't been collecting all that data we'd have never known about this!"

The thought has occurred to quite a few people, it seems, I saw this point brought up on Fox today. What strikes me about the whole thing is that it does tell the terrorists which networks and which operators are most highly compromised. But, if they're astute, it also tells them they can seriously impact our actions without directly attacking us, and opens up a whole new world of disinformation warfare and deception planning over those same channels, and could also allow them to weed out the careless, the moles, and the double agents, given enough time and responses from us.

Terrorists don't even have to do anything anymore. They just talk about it enough, word gets out and the US reacts. I see where a "boy who cried wolf" scenario could happen.

Regarding security, terrorists and the NSA, libs are stuck on the meme that domestic terrorists are as much or more of a threat than foreign. They'll always go back to Oklahoma city as their proof. But they won't concede the thousands of foreign terrorists campaigns to the one they always come back to. It's simple. Mcveigh advances the lib agenda, muslim terrorism doesn't.
