For those of you that I am on FB with, you already know about my current quest. A good buddy of mine's Godmother's Father is turning 100 on August 16. She posted a week ago on FB that she is trying to coordinate a birthday card to be sent to him from each of our 50, not 57 states. In less than a day, with one Facebook post, people have stepped up and committed to sending a card to a guy they don't even know.
It's been a super great experience for me, seeing people I know step up and do something so cool, just for doing it. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends, some of whom I have never met in person, and am so happy to get so close to making my buddy's wish come true.
Funny thing though. I do have several FB friends that are liberal. They haven't gotten involved at all. Not one, except for my dearest cousin in Maine. She must just be liberal by association. :whatever:
I am just really feeling grateful for all of the offerings to help a man I have never met celebrate his birthday. It's pretty freaking cool!

Do you want us to repost your request on our feeds so others can see it?

That would be awesome! I don't want to share their address, except for PM, but I figure Hey! You only turn 100 once, yes?

I asked Tots if sending this guy a subscription to Playboy might be in order.
She laughed and sort of said, mmmmkay?
I still ain't sure.
Looking for feedback on that idea.
Is it appropriate to send a subscription to a stroke book to a 100-year-old guy you don't even know?
