I don't think I could join today's military with what has been and is continuing to happen.

Back in the mid-sixties, when I joined the Marines, it was understood that discipline was primary because lives depended on proper interaction within the unit.

Today, it looks like PC POLITICS is primary. I hope I'm wrong but from what I read, I would not join today. (if I was 18 again)

If it is life, does it mean life with no parole?

It's a federal sentence, so pretty much.

Also he was found guilty on 19 charges. he won't get life for any of them but consecutively served Will be longer than he will live.

From what I read, Manning faces up to 136 years in prison.

Since he was acquitted of the "aiding the enemy" charge, it means that it's possible that whatever sentence he does wind up with could theoretically include parole.

Sentencing phase of the trial begins today.

If he gets paroled, his life expectancy will be short.

Good. Manning should never enjoy another day of freedom.
